Clean Pomodoro vs Focal

Clean Pomodoro is a focus timer built on a 60-year-old idea that still works: 25 minutes of deep work, a 5-minute break, repeat. After four rounds, take a longer rest. No clutter, no account, no noise — just you and the next 25 minutes. WHY IT WORKS Starting is the hardest part. A 25-minute timer makes it easy: the urge to check your phone fades, time stops feeling abstract, and your day becomes a count of pomodoros you actually finished. A TIMER FOR EVERY PART OF YOUR DAY Reading, Workout, Deep Work, Revision — create a separate timer for each, and give it its own: • Theme and color • Photo backdrop or mountain preset • Ambient sound to settle into • Voice cue when a session starts and ends CLIMB YOUR EVEREST Every pomodoro moves you up the mountain. Unlock Base Camp, Camp I through IV, and finally the Summit at 8,849m as your focused hours add up. A GitHub-style heatmap turns your streak into a wall of green you won't want to break. TRACK WHAT MATTERS • Contribution heatmap of every focused day • Daily and total focus time • Current and longest streaks • Achievements for deep-work hours and consistency BUILT TO STAY OUT OF THE WAY • Clean, distraction-free design • Light and dark themes • Works fully offline — no sign-up required • Local reminders so you never forget to start Whether you're studying for an exam, fighting procrastination, doing deep work, or just building a daily habit, Clean Pomodoro keeps it simple: focus, break, repeat — and watch the mountain rise. See the time you have left. Focal turns a countdown into something you can look at: a colored disk that shrinks as your time runs out — the same idea as the timer on a classroom wall, in your pocket, on your lock screen, and on your desk while the phone charges. ONE THING AT A TIME A routine in Focal is a chain of short steps, each with its own length. Focal shows you the step you are on and nothing else, then moves to the next one by itself. Morning launch, shutdown, cleaning sprint, a study block — start with ten ready-made routines or build your own. TIME YOU CAN SEE, EVERYWHERE • Full-screen timer in three shapes: disk, bar, or pie • Live Activity and Dynamic Island — the countdown keeps running on your lock screen • Home and Lock Screen widgets for your next routine • Put the phone on its side while charging and StandBy becomes a desk timer • Start from Siri, the Action Button, or Control Center BUILT FOR THE WAY ATTENTION ACTUALLY WORKS • Gentle haptics at the halfway mark and in the final minute • When time is up the clock keeps counting, and Focal taps you on the shoulder at five and fifteen minutes — the alarm for when you fall into something too deep • Add a minute without losing your place • Eight themes, including high-contrast and a quiet monochrome one NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE. No account. No cloud. Nothing you make ever leaves your phone — the timer works in airplane mode, because it never needed the internet.
