Pangu — Your Private AI Pangu is an AI assistant built around your privacy. By default it runs entirely on your iPhone — your conversations, documents and voice are processed on-device and never uploaded. When you want more speed and capability, you can turn on an optional cloud AI that you control. It's off by default, and you can switch back to fully on-device anytime. Private by Default Out of the box, the language model runs locally on your iPhone — your questions and answers are never uploaded and go to no AI service. Prefer more power? Turn on a cloud AI in Settings: while it's on, only the messages you send go to the AI provider to write the reply. You're always in control of where your data goes. Chat With Your Documents Import PDFs and files, then ask questions in plain language. Pangu finds the relevant passages in your own documents (on-device semantic search) and answers from them. It tells you which document an answer came from, and says so when it can't find something rather than guessing. Voice Chat Speak naturally and hear answers back. Speech recognition and text-to-speech run on-device — your voice is transcribed on the phone, not in the cloud. Wake Word Say "Hey Pangu" while the app is open to talk hands-free. The wake-word listener runs entirely on-device and never sends audio anywhere. Files-Only Mode Restrict Pangu to answer only from the documents you've imported, for focused, grounded answers with nothing invented. Remembers What Matters Tell Pangu something once — your car, your policy renewal, who your doctor is — and it remembers, on the device, so you don't repeat yourself. You can see everything it has stored, and delete any of it. Privacy, Specifically Your documents, conversations and voice stay on your phone by default. What leaves, and why: • Your phone number — once, to send a verification code at setup • Your email address — to check early-access eligibility • Diagnostic reports — only if you choose to report a problem (includes device model and recent app logs) • Your messages — only if you turn on the optional cloud AI, and only then, to the AI provider that writes the reply With cloud off (the default), no AI service outside your phone receives your data. Read the full disclosure any time in Settings → Privacy & data. Before you start Setup requires a one-time phone verification by SMS. If you use the on-device model, it downloads once (about 2.5 GB — use Wi-Fi) and then works fully offline, including airplane mode. The optional cloud AI needs an internet connection.
