About

Koede Journal

Keeping a journal isn't hard because you lack willpower. It's hard because writing is work. Koede Journal is a voice-first journal made in Japan. Talk for three minutes before bed, and the AI tidies what you said into something you'll want to read back. The AI never rewrites what you said — your original is always there, one tap away. SPEAK, IN TWO TAPS No blank page to freeze in front of. Talk on the walk home, or in the dark before sleep. Prefer typing? That works too — both work offline. THE AI ONLY TIDIES (PRO) Filler and false starts smoothed out, a mood, a one-line summary. You stay the author; the AI only makes your words easier to read back. Edit or delete anything it writes, switch polishing off in Settings — one tap brings your original back. A JOURNAL WORTH COMING BACK TO Moods and one-line summaries lead you back to the day you want. The calendar fills in as you write, and "a year ago today" turns up on its own. Once a week a short letter about your seven days arrives (Pro), and when the month turns, a monthly review (Pro). QUIET, USEFUL DETAILS - Photos alongside your words - An evening reminder (off by default) - Search across every entry - Goals you can jot down - Place and weather (both off by default) - A Face ID / passcode lock - Plain-text export MADE IN JAPAN, QUIET BY DESIGN In Japanese, koe means voice — Koede is "with your voice": speak the day out loud, then set it down. On screen, washi paper and ink, one lamp lit at night. Inside the app there are no followers, no likes, no rankings — the only notification is the evening reminder. A journal isn't for showing to anyone. Interface, speech recognition, and AI all work in English as well as Japanese. WHO IT'S FOR - You've started a journal more than once and stopped by day three - You want to put the day in order before you sleep - Writing is hard for you, but talking isn't - Your hands are full with work or kids - You want reflection to be a quiet habit, not another task If even one sounds like you, it will probably fit. WHAT'S FREE - Writing and reading back your journal - Voice input (OS speech recognition) - Photos - Choosing your mood - Bookmarks All of this stays free. WHAT PRO ADDS - AI polishing (up to 50 entries a week; originals always kept) - Weekly and monthly reviews - Automatic cloud backup (encrypted on-device before it leaves) TRY IT FOR 7 DAYS The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. During the trial, you can polish up to 10 entries — enough to see what your spoken words become. If you start wanting to polish every entry, that's what Pro is for. ABOUT YOUR VOICE AND YOUR WRITING This app does not send audio to our servers. Transcription uses your device's OS speech recognition, which may communicate with the OS vendor. A recording is kept only if you turn on "Keep the audio too", and it stays on this device. Entries live on your device — no account to create. When AI polishing runs, that entry's text is sent for processing — not stored on our servers, not used to train models. Optional cloud backup (Pro) is encrypted on your device before it leaves, so we cannot read what is inside. Three minutes a night adds up: a year from now, you can read back what you said a year ago today. Start with one sentence, tonight. Current prices and what's included are shown in the app before you buy. Subscriptions are charged to your Apple Account and renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. If you reinstall, use "Restore purchases" with the same Apple Account.
