Rubberband

RUBBERBAND is not a keyboard. It's an elastic surface where every line is a magnet: you glide, and GRAVITY pulls notes toward the scale. All the way up, you can't play out of tune. At zero, it's free glissando. In between, your ear decides. A microtonal synth built to be both an instant toy and a serious instrument β played like a theremin or a ribbon controller, tuned like the world. THE WORLD'S TUNINGS RUBBERBAND truly speaks microtonality β not an effect, the heart of the instrument. Arabic maqam, Turkish makam, Persian dastgah, just intonation, just blues and barbershop, klezmer modes, Southeast-Asian equiheptatonic, xenharmonic temperaments (19- and 31-TET, the harmonic series), Western scales β with region-adjustable neutral tuning. The engine thinks in cents: any tuning on Earth is within reach. 36 VOICES Plucked strings, basses, bowed instruments (violin, cello, kamancheh, sarangi), bells and bars, synth voices, the RUBBERβSTRING morph, the instruments of the East (oud, qanun, santur, ney, zurna, duduk), and granular clouds. Every voice is physically modelled and rendered in real time β no samples. EXPRESSIVE UNDER THE FINGER (MPE) Pressure is dynamics; gliding along a string changes the colour, from sul tasto to ponticello; vertical is pitch. Tilt the phone and it becomes an axis of expression. MPE MIDI out drives your other synths with the same gestures. LISTEN TO THE ROOM RUBBERBAND hears the music around you, detects the key, and tunes to it. Play along with anyone, in tune. ALSO A DRONE holding the tonic under your playing, a sympathetic halo that rings the neighbouring strings, a LOOPER to stack loops, and recording your takes straight to your device. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Full interface in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), German, Turkish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Korean and Arabic β with real musician vocabulary in each, not machine translation. Haptics, Metal rendering, fully native. No account, no ads, no data collected β the microphone is analysed locally and never recorded or sent. FREE, THEN PRO Start free: the full elastic surface, starter voices, and a taste of the world's tunings. The RUBBERBAND PRO unlock (one-time purchase) opens all 36 voices, the full catalogue of world tunings, recording and sharing, MPE MIDI output, MOTION and LISTEN. One-time purchase. No subscription.
Granula

Granula is a granular synthesizer for the phone. It takes a sound from demo samples (like guitar, calimba, tongue drum, etc.) or thirty seconds you record on the spot and scatters it into hundreds of tiny overlapping grains. A slow, shifting texture comes back to your space: ambient pads, drones, atmospheres that keep evolving as long as you keep listening. Everything is played with your hands. The whole screen is a morph pad: move a finger across it and the sound moves with you, while a field of glyphs lights up under your touch and churns in time with what you hear. FOUR CHARACTERS β’ Reverse: short grains, played mostly backwards, with octave and fifth sparkles on top β’ Gater: a denser cloud chopped on a grid, from halves down to sixteenths β’ Chorus: long, slow, detuned grains with the read position drifting like a tide β’ Scatter: harmonic intervals thrown at random and sprayed wide FOUR KNOBS β’ Grain size, from 15 ms clicks to 1 second β’ Position: where in the sample the grains are lifted from β’ Density: from sparse drips to a solid wash β’ Dry/Wet: a six-second convolution reverb, plus the amount of reversed grains RECORD THE WORLD AROUND Hold the record button and capture up to thirty seconds of anything: your voice, a room, rain on a window, a string you plucked once. The take is granulated immediately and kept in your library under a name of its own. You can also import your own MP3 or WAV files. MADE FOR A PHONE β’ Keeps playing with the screen locked and in the background β’ Survives calls, headphone unplugs and output switches without losing your session β’ Any class-compliant USB or Bluetooth MIDI keyboard plays it - plug in and go, nothing to pair inside the app GRANULA PRO Every built-in sound is free and stays free. A free account also brings in one sound of your own - recorded or imported. Granula Pro lifts that limit: record and import as much as you like, and everything syncs to your account so a new phone picks up where the last one left off. No ads.
