Modrift vs Netacho

Modrift is a lightweight client for quickly opening, reading, and lightly editing files stored in the cloud — right from your iPhone. Not a heavy notes app: just open, read, and tweak, as fast as possible. Key features - Open Markdown files (.md / .txt / .markdown) with clean formatted rendering - Launch straight from Files or any app via "Open in Modrift" - Keep your own working home (iCloud › Modrift): list, create and organise files there - Switch between Home (by place) and Recent (by time) - Toggle between edit and preview with one tap - A formatting toolbar above the keyboard in edit mode — headings, lists, checkboxes, bold and more, one tap each - Automatic saving (no manual save button) - Full-text search, and sorting by date modified or name - Turn to landscape for longer lines — easier on long paragraphs and tables - Japanese / English interface Beyond Markdown - View images (PNG / JPEG / GIF / HEIC / WebP) with pinch to zoom — free - View PDFs with paging and zoom — Modrift Pro (one-time purchase) - View Word documents (.docx) formatted, with headings, lists and tables — Modrift Pro - View Excel workbooks (.xlsx) as tables, with sheet switching — Modrift Pro Markdown, text and images stay free. Only PDF, Word and Excel viewing is part of Modrift Pro — a single one-time purchase, no subscription. These formats are view-only; they cannot be edited. About your home and editing - Files in your home (iCloud › Modrift) are editable in place, and edits sync to iCloud - Files outside your home (Dropbox / Google Drive, or iCloud Drive outside the Modrift folder) are view-only. To edit one, use "Copy to Home" and edit the copy (the original is not written back) - You can choose whether your home lives in iCloud or on this iPhone, in Settings Relationship to the Files app Modrift complements the Files app rather than replacing it. Leave general folder management to Files; Modrift focuses on formatted Markdown viewing, light editing, and tidying its own home folder. The name combines Mo (Mobile / Motion) + drift — the idea of thoughts and files flowing freely on mobile.

"Netacho" (Idea Notebook) is a memo app for quickly jotting down, in just a few words, things you want to talk about later and ideas that suddenly come to mind. Something interesting happens, but when you finally get to talk with someone, you cannot remember it. A good idea comes to you, but while you are trying to write it out in detail, it slips away. You want to look back later at an article or page that caught your eye. Netacho helps reduce these small losses. There is no need to write long text. A single phrase that you can recall later is enough. Just like a comedian's notebook of material, you can gradually collect daily events, conversation topics, dreams, realizations, ideas, and interesting web pages. When you have something you want to tell a friend or colleague next time you meet When you want to remember an amusing conversation or a memorable moment When an idea for an app, your work, or daily life comes to mind When you want to record a dream or a thought before you forget it When you want to easily save a page you found interesting in Safari or on social media When you want to keep a small daily moment, like a one line diary Record casually in a single phrase You do not have to write a detailed explanation. You can leave just a short phrase that brings the memory back. Save URLs directly from Safari Just press the share button once, and the page you are viewing is saved to Netacho. The title and thumbnail image are captured automatically, so you can quickly recall the content later. Automatic detection of URLs on the clipboard The app detects a URL you have copied and suggests saving it. You can save it as soon as you return from your browser. Keep photos together with your notes For scenes that are hard to convey with text alone, you can attach up to five photos. Conversation topics and ideas in one place Topics you want to bring up in conversation and your own private ideas can be stored in the same place. Look back whenever you need to By reviewing the notes you have collected, you can recall events and ideas you had forgotten. With status management for "not yet talked about," "talked about," and "keep," you can also retain material you have already used as a record. Every day holds many small moments that photos do not capture and thoughts that exist only in your head. Why not leave just a single phrase about that interesting page or that idea you had, before you forget it?
