Spell Champ Texas helps students prepare for the Texas UIL A+ Spelling contest. Pick a division, pick a range of word numbers, and practice the way the contest works: hear the word, then write it exactly right. PRACTICE BY WORD NUMBER The word list is organized the way students study it. Choose division 3-4, 5-6, or 7-8, then choose any range of word numbers, like words 1-10 or 151-200 (600 words for 3-4, 800 for 5-6, 900 for 7-8). Practice in order, like the contest, or shuffle. HEAR IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU NEED Every word is spoken aloud. Tap Hear it again to repeat it, Hear it another way for a second voice, or Use it in a sentence to hear it in context. Words that sound like other words come with a short note, so you know which one to spell. CHECKED THE UIL WAY Answers are scored by the contest's spelling rules, not a loose spell-checker: - Accepted alternate spellings count as correct. - Capital letters matter when the word is capitalized on the list. - Hyphens and apostrophes must be exactly right. LEARN FROM YOUR MISSES See your results at the end of each round and practice the missed words right away. Your trouble words list shows the words you miss most often, with a button to practice them. PRACTICE MY WORDS One tap starts a session that mixes words due for review, words you are struggling with, and new words from your division. A GROWN-UP ACCOUNT, THEN OFFLINE PRACTICE A parent, guardian or teacher signs in once with Apple or Google and sets up each student by nickname and grade. Students never sign in. After that, practice works without an internet connection. No ads, no tracking, and no purchases. FOR FAMILIES Keep progress safe across devices, add each student in the family, and invite a co-parent. When students share a device, Spell Champ asks who is practicing. A parent can set one optional daily reminder for any time of day. FOR TEACHERS Create a class, share a join link, and assign word ranges or practice tests. A parent approves before a teacher sees practice, and teachers see only practice on assigned words. EARN IT BY PRACTICING Stars, a free Season Pass, daily missions, and coins to dress up Andy the armadillo, with cheerful sounds you can turn off. Everything is earned by practicing; nothing is for sale. Reset progress on this device from More > For grown-ups at any time. The word list comes from the publicly available UIL A+ Spelling 2026-27 list. Spell Champ Texas is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
