About

Sensecast

Most weather apps just show a number. Sensecast shows you why it feels that way. Sensecast combines multi-model forecasts, Doppler radar, power-grid outages, and natural-hazard tracking in one weather app for iPhone and iPad. Compare 18 forecast sources — including national weather services and global supercomputer models — track live U.S. power outages, watch Doppler radar, and follow earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes and other tropical cyclones, plus U.S. tornado reports. Then tap any metric to understand the science behind it. No account required. Fully localized in Spanish and automatically follows your device language. FEELS-LIKE & CONDITIONS • Apparent temperature: whether humidity (Heat Index) or wind (Wind Chill) is driving the difference. • Dew point comfort scale (under 55°F crisp; 60–65°F muggy; over 70°F tropical). • UV index, humidity, barometric-pressure trend, and a wind compass with Beaufort scale. • Air Quality Index (PM2.5, PM10, ozone): EPA AirNow in the U.S., global estimates elsewhere. 18 FORECAST SOURCES INCLUDING 3 SUPERCOMPUTER MODELS • 15 forecast sources free — NOAA, MET Norway, DWD (Bright Sky), UK Met Office, Environment Canada GEM, Météo-France, JMA, CMA and more. • Smart routing uses your country's own weather service where it has a live feed. • Sensecast Pro adds the ECMWF, HRRR and ICON supercomputer models and a side-by-side comparison grid with consensus and model-spread chips. DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR • The past 2 hours of radar, plus about an hour of nowcast. • 4 color schemes (Universal Blue, Classic NEXRAD, Dark Sky, Titan), 3 map backgrounds, and an on-device tile cache. NATURAL HAZARD TRACKERS (FREE) • USGS earthquakes (M2.5+, 500 miles), NASA FIRMS wildfires (150 miles, ranked by Fire Radiative Power), GDACS cyclones in every basin, and SPC tornado reports and outlooks in the U.S. • Optional background alerts for nearby earthquakes (M4.0+) and wildfires, with clear disclosure before background location is used. LIVE GRID GUARD — POWER OUTAGES • U.S. county-level outage counts from the Department of Energy's ODIN feed (participating utilities), a weather risk index for power lines, utility hotlines and outage-map links, and a blackout guide. • Grid Guard storm and outage alerts are a Sensecast Pro feature. WEATHER ACADEMY • A searchable 20-topic glossary. Tap any metric for a plain-language analogy, then the science. WIDGETS & LIVE ACTIVITIES • Small, Medium and Large Home Screen widgets, plus circular, rectangular and inline Lock Screen widgets. • Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. APPEARANCES • Free: Dynamic (particles) and Clean Weather Sky (gradients). • Pro: Atmosphere (photographic skies per condition and time of day, with overlays), OLED Stealth (true #000000), Custom Photo (on-device). • Sleet, hail, and haze included. Overlays pause in the background. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no ads, no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs. • Location goes to weather and hazard services — never to an ad network. Custom Photo stays on your device. SENSECAST PRO Sensecast Pro is available as an auto-renewable subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. • Monthly — $2.99 • Annual — $23.99, with a 3-day free trial • Lifetime — $99.99 one-time purchase Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
