Know & Act

Know & Act is a minimalist self-reflection and action journal built on the philosophy of mind (εΏε¦) of Wang Yangming. Five hundred years ago, in exile at Longchang, Wang Yangming reached his awakening and taught the unity of knowing and acting (η₯θ‘εδΈ): knowing is the beginning of action, and action is the completion of knowing. To know and yet not act is not yet truly to know. This app skips the platitudes and the dense classical quotes. It helps you do one thing β turn the conscience already in your heart into one real step you take today. Three lines a day: your daily practice Β· Today's insight β What do I know I should do today? Β· Today's action β What one step did I actually take today? Β· Today's reflection β What held me back from acting today? Defeat the thief within Wang Yangming said, "Defeating the bandits in the mountains is easy; defeating the thief within the heart is hard." Procrastination, fear, pride, anxiety, impatience, avoidance, self-deception β name the biggest inner thief of your day, and the app offers a small practice to match it. Seeing it clearly is the first step toward realizing your innate conscience (θ΄θ―η₯). Polish yourself in action (δΊδΈη£¨η») This wisdom lives not in books but in what you do. Streak days and monthly completions, a check-in calendar that reveals the arc of your persistence, and a map of your most common inner thieves help you meet your true self in the ordinary affairs of everyday life. Quiet, restrained, spacious A warm rice-paper background, ink-dark type, a few clean Eastern lines. Like a journal of the mind that belongs to you alone. Fully local, privacy first Every entry is stored only on your device β never uploaded, never connected, never collecting any personal information. Export to JSON anytime, or clear everything with a single tap. One minute a day. Train your mind in action. Know and act as one.
Decade
Read full descriptionHide full description
Ten years will pass either way. The only question is whether you'll have a tree. Decade turns what you put into money, health and reading into a tree that grows. Log once a day and it grows a little. Stop, and it doesn't die. One tree, five stages Seedling, sapling, growing, mature, ancient. Size isn't your streak. It's your accumulated years β each year's completion rate multiplied by how much of that year you were here, added up. Three areas, one tree Wealth. Set a monthly amount to put in. Log the transfer. Health. Set a weekly count or duration. Knowledge. Set books per year. Track reading with a timer. Run all three, or just one. A missed day doesn't reset anything Most habit apps score you on consecutive days. Miss one and you start over. This one doesn't. Finish sixty percent of the year and the tree grows sixty percent. That sixty percent stays. Health and knowledge allow two backfills a month. Wealth allows none β the transfer either happened or it didn't. The first thirty days are a calibration window. Adjust your targets freely; aiming too high costs you nothing. Blossom and fruit At ninety percent of your yearly target, the tree blossoms. At one hundred, it fruits, and the fruit stays until January first. At the end of each year, that year is recorded as a good year or a lean one, and drawn as a ring. Lean years get drawn too. They were part of it. About the rate of return Wealth projections use a rate you enter yourself. The screen always says "you assume X%", because that's what it is β an assumption, not a promise. This app recommends no investments and tells you nothing about what to buy. No account, no server No sign-up, no login. Open it and use it. Everything stays on your phone. Nothing is uploaded. You are not tracked. Decade Pro β one purchase, not a subscription Removes ads Twelve tree styles: sakura, maple, ginkgo, ink, gold leaf, glass, ember, coin and more iCloud backup and restore on a new device Bought once is bought. Tap Restore Purchases on a new phone. The free version works forever, with all three areas fully available.
