Sunova Weather vs Cloudo

Sunova is a weather app built on a simple promise: radical honesty and total privacy. NO SUBSCRIPTION. NO ACCOUNT. NO ADS. NO TRACKING. There is no sign-up, no subscription, no analytics, and no backend server. Your weather data flows directly from public weather APIs to your device. Location coordinates are rounded to roughly 111 meters before any request leaves your phone, and your position is never stored anywhere but on your device. HONEST BY DESIGN Most weather apps hide missing data behind blank dashes. Sunova tells you what it knows and what it doesn't. If radar frames aren't available, you'll see a message — not an empty map. If forecast data lags behind what's actually happening outside, Sunova reconciles its current conditions against minute-by-minute nowcast data so the headline matches the sky. EVERYTHING YOU NEED • Current conditions with feels-like, dew point, wind direction, pressure, visibility, and gusts • Minute-by-minute rain nowcast for the next hour, in plain language • 72-hour hourly forecast and 10-day outlook • Animated precipitation radar with playback, past and future frames • Severe weather alerts from official sources (NWS for the US, Environment Canada) • Air quality (US + EU AQI), pollen, and UV index detail screens • Personalized UV guidance: burn-time estimates and SPF recommendations based on your skin type • Sunrise, sunset, and moon phase — computed on your device • Smart Planner: at-a-glance scores for running, cycling, gardening, BBQ, stargazing, and more • What to Wear suggestions and a one-line daily summary • Local notifications for severe weather, rain, temperature extremes, and a daily briefing — scheduled entirely on your device, with quiet hours HOW IT CHECKS THE FORECAST Sunova even grades itself: the Forecast Accuracy screen compares what was forecast for yesterday against what actually happened, using real historical data. When there isn't enough history yet, it says so — no fabricated scores. FREE MEANS FREE Sunova is completely free. No premium tier, no locked features, no upsells. Weather data comes from free, open public APIs (Open-Meteo, RainViewer, NWS, Environment Canada), and the app credits every source. Your weather. Your device. Nobody watching.

Cloudo is weather that thinks ahead. Traditional weather apps give you numbers. Cloudo helps you understand what those numbers actually mean for your day. Instead of simply showing temperature, rain probability, wind and UV, Cloudo turns forecast data into useful, human-friendly guidance. Know when rain may start, whether you should bring an umbrella, how the temperature will change, what conditions may feel like outside and what you may want to prepare before leaving home. WEATHER INTELLIGENCE Cloudo analyzes changing weather conditions and highlights what deserves your attention. See important shifts in rain, temperature, wind, UV and other conditions without digging through endless charts. YOUR WEATHER ASSISTANT Ask what matters to you and explore weather through practical insights. Cloudo is designed around decisions, not just measurements. TODAY AT A GLANCE Get a clear view of the day ahead with hourly conditions and useful highlights. Quickly understand what is changing and when. SMART RAIN INSIGHTS A rain percentage alone doesn’t tell the whole story. Cloudo helps you understand when rain is expected, how conditions may change and when carrying an umbrella could make sense. UV & SUN GUIDANCE See UV conditions throughout the day and understand when sun protection deserves more attention. OUTFIT SUGGESTIONS Weather affects what you wear. Cloudo uses temperature, feels-like conditions, wind and other forecast information to provide useful clothing suggestions for different parts of your day. WIND, HEAT & MORE Explore wind, pressure, temperature trends and additional weather details when you want to go deeper. PLACES Keep track of weather in the locations that matter to you. Compare conditions and stay prepared for different places. BUILT FOR REAL LIFE Cloudo isn’t designed to make weather more complicated. It is designed to make weather easier to use.
