About

Scriptly

Features

Scriptly is a Bible you can write in. Read it in your own language, hear it read aloud, and keep what you think beside the verse that prompted it — written by hand with Apple Pencil, or typed. No account, no ads, nothing to buy. READ • 22 languages, most with several translations: English, Bengali, Chinese, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, Tagalog, Tamil, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese. • Flowing text at whatever size reads easily, or a real page — ruled, squared, dotted or blank — with a margin wide enough to think in. • Ask in your own words: “where does Jesus talk about worry” finds the passage. LISTEN • Chapters read aloud in English and Chinese, and the Thai New Testament, with a choice of readers. • On recordings with verse timings, the page follows the voice. • It keeps playing while you read on, or with the screen locked. STUDY • Tap a word to see the Greek or Hebrew behind it, its dictionary entry, and its grammar in plain words. • Find every other place that word appears — or only that exact form. • Cross-references on every verse, and study notes on the history and customs the first readers knew. • Gather verses, notes and word studies into a study, then print it as a PDF or export it to Word. EVERY MORNING • My Utmost for His Highest and Daily Light on the Daily Path, with a page to answer them on. • Short reading plans you can actually finish. None of them start in Genesis. KEEP WHAT YOU THINK • Pen, highlighter and eraser in your own colours. Circle a stroke and scribble over it to erase. • Highlight a verse or type a note, tag it, and find it again in a notes list arranged by book. YOURS, AND PRIVATE • No account needed, and no ads. • Everything you mark, type or write follows you between your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud, in a container we can neither see nor reach. Sign in with Google too, and it is kept in your Google Drive as well. • Anonymous counts of chapters opened — never the text, never your handwriting, never who you are — feed the “Around the world” screen, and can be turned off in Settings. On iPhone and iPad. Apple Pencil is a pleasure, not a requirement.
