Prep vs Verbavia

Learn to cook with confidence - one skill, one recipe, one meal at a time. Prep is a cooking app for beginners who want to actually understand what they’re doing in the kitchen. Learn the cooking basics through short, interactive lessons, then use those skills with recipes you actually want to make. Save recipes from Instagram and TikTok, follow clear step-by-step cooking guides, and plan your meals for the week. LEARN HOW TO COOK Prep teaches you the skills recipes usually assume you already know. • Short interactive lessons - Learn cooking basics without sitting through long videos. • Understand what to look for - Learn how heat, texture, timing, seasoning, and technique actually work. • Practice as you progress - Answer questions, complete kitchen challenges, and build confidence step by step. • Build your cooking path - Explore foundations, pasta and risotto, desserts, baking, dough, fermentation, and more. • Track your progress - Earn XP, level up, build streaks, and keep learning at your own pace. SAVE RECIPES & ACTUALLY COOK THEM Found something you want to make on Instagram or TikTok? Share it to Prep. • Import recipe videos - Share a public recipe video or paste its link. • Made for your kitchen - Adapt recipes to your experience level, servings, units, and dietary needs. • Step-by-step guidance - See what to do, how long it should take, and what you should be looking for. • Know when something is going wrong - Get useful cues for color, texture, heat, and timing instead of vague instructions like “cook until ready.” • Cook without losing your place - Built-in timers and Live Activities keep you on track. • Check with a photo - Get practical feedback on color and texture while you cook. • Nutrition at a glance - See calories, protein, carbs, and fats per serving. No more replaying the same ten seconds of a recipe video. No more guessing what the creator meant. PLAN YOUR WEEK Save the recipes you want to make and add them to your weekly meal plan. Prep brings the ingredients together into one grocery list, so you can check what you already have, shop faster, and know what you’re cooking next. Cooking gets easier when you understand what to look for. Start with the basics. Build real cooking skills. Then put them to use. Verbavia is a language learning app built around the science and pedagogy of language learning. Thus, each of Verbavia's lessons opens with 4, 6, or 8 words depending on which level of comprehensiveness you select. Each daily lesson is designed to be intentionally difficult, but enjoyable, such that even a single daily lesson is more than enough to bring you to full fluency. Verbavia offers 15 different languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Mandarin Chinese, Samoan, Esperanto, Tok Pisin, Fijian, Marshallese, Kiribati, Palauan, Rapa Nui, and Shanghainese, each with an authentic voice. Every lesson is assembled almost entirely from words you have already met. Vocabulary turning up in an exercise before anyone taught it to you is the failure that quietly sinks most language apps, and Verbavia treats it as a defect rather than a quirk. Review of flashcards is handled by spaced repetition, and every card that falls due is shown to you. There is no daily cap, and no quiet deferral of your backlog to keep a streak looking healthy. A word joins your deck the first time you answer it, and its schedule adapts to how well you actually did. Verbavia also runs in your browser at verbavia.com. Sign in on both and your deck, your streak and your place in the syllabus stay in step.
