Hex Squad is a relaxed real-time tactics game about maneuver and angles. You command a small squad across a hex grid — where you point each trooper matters as much as where you move them. Every trooper sees down a weapon cone. Fog of war hides what no one is looking at. Bullets travel slowly enough that moving is a real dodge, so a fight is decided by positioning: get the angle, use the cover, and catch the enemy where their armor isn't. FEATURES • Real-time or turn-based — play in relaxed continuous time, or take it slow, turn by turn. • Free facing and weapon cones — line of sight is a cone you aim, not a stat. Flanking is the kill. • Cover, walls, and fog — read the battlefield, brace against walls, and control the lanes. • Automatic reaction fire — your troopers spot and defend themselves; you play the general. • Distinct classes — sniper, rifle, SMG, shield, and burst, each with its own reach and role. • Waves and regroup — hold ground as the arena tightens around you. • Play online — host a room with a 4-letter code and take on a friend, or fight the AI solo. Real-time or turn-based, both work online. • Fast to pick up, no accounts, no ads, no timers, no nonsense. Just tactics. Point your squad, hold the angles, and win the ground.

A real RTS on your phone: 29 units, 75+ upgrades, an enemy AI that learns how you play — free, offline, nothing to buy. Global Ordnance: The Iron Fist is built in the spirit of the classic PC real-time strategy games of the late '90s — real units, hard counters, a front line that moves — and redesigned from the ground up for a touchscreen. The whole battlefield fits on one screen. No base to build, no map to drag: every decision is a combat decision. Research, deploy, push the line, and put a shell through the enemy HQ before it does the same to yours. YOU COMMAND. DIRECTLY. Units drop straight onto your side of the field while the fight is already on. Pick targets, focus fire, pull back. Two fingers grab every tank, three every vehicle, four every gun; double-tap takes every unit of one type. No menus mid-fight. FROM SCOUT CAR TO NUCLEAR STRIKE • The Ferret: $100, fast, fragile, first on the field • The Mammoth Tank: two barrels, crushes lines and keeps rolling • The Trident: three barrels, artillery range, lays mines as it moves • The Sniper Tank: never misses, fires first, dies if anything gets close • The Hammer Tank: one oversized gun, the highest HQ damage in the game • The Corsair and the Twin Bomber: four guns and twin rockets, or a long-range missile from beyond sight • The Apocalypse bomber and the V2 ballistic missile: when the ground game is not enough 29 units across armor, vehicles, aircraft and fixed defenses, every one with an in-game info card and a counter. UPGRADES THAT REWRITE A UNIT 75+ upgrades, researched while shells are still flying. A Medium Tank with the Grinder chews through wreckage and repairs its own hull. Uranium shells leave lingering radiation. Chaff, flash bombs and a radar scrambler blind the enemy's anti-air. Upgrades don't buff a unit — they change what it is. AMMO RUNS OUT. WRECKAGE PAYS. Kill-to-Earn: what you destroy funds what you build next. Ammo is finite, so supply trucks rearm and repair the front, lay anti-tank or nuclear mines, and the units that survive rank up and hit harder. THE ENEMY IS WATCHING The Adaptive AI tracks how you play and counters it. No inflated stats, no artificial accuracy, no scripted waves — it just plays smarter. Do well, and your best units become its priority targets. Keep your anti-air close. THE GROUND FIGHTS BACK Two battlefields: a green biome, and a snow biome with Thin Ice — frozen ground that holds a unit only so long. The heavier the tank, the faster it sinks. Send a Mammoth onto the wrong patch and it isn't coming back. THREE WAYS TO PLAY Classic matches. Timed Blitz: 1, 3 or 5 minutes, only HQ damage counts, turtling loses. Upkeep: every unit on the field costs you money for as long as it stands. FAIR BY DESIGN • Free. No in-app purchases, no premium tier, no pay-to-win • Plays offline — no account, no connection needed • 60+ achievements unlock skins and perks — earned by playing, never sold • Ads never interrupt a match: at most one after it, and none at all if you win • iPhone and iPad, with a dedicated large-screen layout • A 14-track metal soundtrack written for the game Much of how the game plays — the controls, the ad rule, the balance — came from RTS players on forums and social media. A new update most weeks, every one free and documented at awngames.com. Made by a two-person studio.
