Nest
Read full descriptionHide full description
Nest is the beautiful, native way to watch everything on your own media server. Connect to Plex, Jellyfin or Emby and your movies and TV shows are ready to play in seconds β in stunning quality, with no monthly fee. Built from the ground up in Swift for iPhone, iPad and Mac, Nest plays your files exactly as they are. No transcoding, no re-compression, no quality loss: just Direct Play of virtually any format, powered by the VLC engine. WHY NEST β’ DIRECT PLAY EVERYTHING β MKV, HEVC, H.264, AV1, 4K, HDR, 10-bit, multichannel audio. If your file has it, Nest plays it, straight from the source at full quality. β’ THREE SERVERS, ONE APP β Plex, Jellyfin and Emby, side by side. Sign in the way each server expects (Plex secure browser login with 2FA; Jellyfin/Emby with your username and password). β’ WATCH OFFLINE β Download movies and episodes to your device and take them on the plane, the train, anywhere. Your "Continue Watching" list can even download the next episode automatically. β’ PICKS UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF β Resume playback to the exact second, on any device. Your progress stays in sync with your server, so it's the same on your TV and your phone. β’ AUDIO & SUBTITLES, YOUR WAY β Switch audio tracks and subtitles on the fly, load external subtitle files, and set a preferred language that's selected automatically for every video. β’ FAST AND OFFLINE-READY β Your libraries are cached so browsing is instant, even with no connection. Adjustable grid density, per-library search, and crisp artwork throughout. β’ MAC AND iOS, NATIVELY β A true Mac app, not a stretched iPad port, and a true iPhone/iPad app. Keyboard shortcuts on Mac included. β’ PRIVATE BY DESIGN β Nest has no account of its own and no tracking. It talks only to the server you point it at. Your viewing stays between you and your own hardware. HOW IT WORKS Nest is a player for media you already own and host yourself. You need your own Plex, Jellyfin or Emby server (running on a Mac, PC, NAS or home server) β Nest connects to it and plays your library. It does not include or stream any content on its own. No subscription. No ads. Just your library, the way it should look.
Loft
Read full descriptionHide full description
Loft is a native player for the media account you already own. Add it once and Loft turns it into a proper library: films, series and live channels, searchable in an instant, with artwork, descriptions and everything you are part way through in one place. Loft does not include, sell or recommend any content. It plays what your own account gives you access to. A REAL LIBRARY Favorites, a watchlist, lists of your own and a Continue Watching shelf that survives your provider reshuffling its catalogue. Loft remembers the title, not the link. PLAYS WHAT OTHERS REFUSE Matroska, AVI and transport streams play as they are. Loft rewrites the container on the device as it goes, so the picture starts while the rest is still being prepared. Audio tracks and subtitles appear in the system menus you already know. INSTANT, BECAUSE IT IS ALL HERE Your catalogue is stored on the device. Browsing, filtering and search never wait on a slow connection, and search answers as you type. THE PLAYER YOU ALREADY KNOW Picture in Picture, AirPlay and full screen, with the system controls and gestures Apple built. On Apple TV it is made for a remote rather than squeezed onto one. EVERY SCREEN, ONE LIBRARY Turn on sync and your watchlist, your lists and your place in everything arrive on your iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV. It travels through your own iCloud, encrypted end to end. Nobody else can read it, including us. RESPECTS YOUR CONNECTION Most accounts allow one stream at a time. Loft gives the connection back the moment you stop, tells you which of your devices is using it, and lets you take over. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account to create. No tracking. No analytics. Your details live in the Keychain and the only server Loft talks to is the one you typed in. Try it before you type anything: a few openly licensed short films ship inside the app. Works with Xtream compatible accounts.
