About

Piaar

Piaar turns skills into introductions. Most networking apps ask for your job title. Piaar asks two questions: which skills you offer, and which skills you are looking for. It then shows you the people whose skills fit what you need β€” at a conference, at a trade show, at a meetup, or anywhere within the distance you choose. HOW IT WORKS β€’ Add the skills you offer and the skills you are looking for. β€’ Each person gets a match score from 0 to 100, based on how well their skills answer what you are looking for. Distance only decides who is close enough to show; it never changes a score. β€’ Browse your matches as a ranked list or on a map. β€’ Set your own search radius, so you only see people you could realistically meet. β€’ A short "How Piaar works" tour shows you around after sign-up, and you can reopen it from Account. MATCHING THAT UNDERSTANDS RELATED SKILLS Piaar recognizes related terms, so a search for "machine learning" also finds people who list "deep learning", "AI engineering" or "neural networks". You never have to guess the exact wording. People are ranked by skills fit, then by distance. Jobs and events can include one clearly labeled "Promoted" item; nothing else changes the order. JOBS THAT FIT YOUR SKILLS β€’ Switch on "Open to opportunities" to see jobs that match the skills you offer and to get job alerts from recruiters. β€’ Showing interest in a job shares your profile and match score with that recruiter. You can withdraw at any time. β€’ Job alerts never reach anyone who has not switched on Open to opportunities. CONNECT AT YOUR OWN PACE β€’ Read public profiles with no obligation to connect. β€’ Send a message request β€” the other person decides whether to reply. β€’ Send a connection request to add someone to your network. β€’ Meeting in person? Scan each other's Piaar code to open a profile. Scanning never connects you automatically. β€’ Share your location in a chat when you are meeting up: a pin of where you are, or a live location, for 30 minutes. After that, the position is removed from the chat. EVENTS AND CONFERENCES β€’ Find skill-based events near you, see your top event matches on Home, and see who is going. β€’ Create public events for anyone nearby, or private events for your whole network or only the people you choose. Share a private event's invite link or QR code, and the people you send it to can join. β€’ Add flyers, schedules and floor plans for trade shows and conferences. β€’ Check in when you arrive, and see what is happening now on Home. β€’ Get reminders 24 hours and 2 hours before the events you are going to. ARTICLES β€’ Write and publish articles about what you know, and read what others share. FOR ORGANIZATIONS AND RECRUITERS β€’ Run your events from a shared workspace with your team, and get a report after each event. β€’ Post jobs and send job alerts to the people whose skills fit. PRIVATE BY DESIGN β€’ Being discoverable is your choice, and you can switch it off at any time. β€’ Nobody sees your exact location: others see where you are to within about 200 m, or about 1 km when Precise location is off. β€’ Usage analytics run only if you opt in. β€’ Sign in with Google, LinkedIn or email, or with Apple on iPhone. SAFETY TOOLS β€’ Block anyone. Blocking works both ways and takes effect immediately: they disappear from your matches, your messages and your network, any connection between you is removed, and they are not notified. β€’ Report someone from their profile, or from your chat with them. β€’ Delete your account and your data from inside the app whenever you want, and request a copy of your data by email. WHO IT'S FOR Freelancers, students, founders, mentors, recruiters, event organizers, career changers, and anyone who wants to find collaborators or grow a local professional network based on what people can actually do.
