Dewling
Read full descriptionHide full description
Dewling is a tiny daily ritual: water your tree with one tap a day, and watch it grow. That's the whole game โ and that's the point. - ONE TAP A DAY Open the app, tap your tree, done. Watering is always free. Your Dewling grows through twelve stages over a hundred days, one day at a time. - EVERY TREE IS ONE OF A KIND Your tree's shape is grown from the day you planted it โ no two Dewlings ever look the same. - MISS A DAY? DEW DROPS Skip a day and your tree wilts. A Dew Drop revives it and keeps your streak alive. You earn them as your tree reaches new milestones. - THE GROVE REMEMBERS Lost trees aren't gone โ they're preserved in your Grove, at the height they reached. Every streak leaves something behind. - A GENTLE NUDGE, NEVER MORE One optional reminder a day, at a time you choose. No guilt-tripping, no spam. If a tree withers, we won't nag you about it. - SHARE YOUR STREAK Show off day 50 with a share card of your actual tree. FAIR BY DESIGN โข No forced ads, ever โ only optional rewarded ads you choose to watch โข No account, no sign-up, your data stays on your device โข One optional one-time supporter purchase โ that's it Plant your seed today. See you tomorrow.
Degenchi
Read full descriptionHide full description
Eight very cute creatures. Eight very bad habits. Degenchi is a virtual pet game for grown ups. You adopt a small, extremely cute critter, and then you find out what it needs. Puff wants a Smoky Stick every twenty minutes. Fizzy loves everyone until the Bubbly Juice wears off. Nugget will eat your entire pantry. Chip has a system. The system does not work. Keep them fed, keep them calm, and try to stop anybody having a meltdown in public. THEY KEEP GOING WHILE YOU ARE GONE Craving, fullness, mood, energy and health all move on real world time. Close the app for six hours and you come back to consequences. Let a craving climb too far and it becomes a full meltdown, with health draining until you sort it out. EVERYONE FALLS APART DIFFERENTLY Nugget burns through food twice as fast. Bean never gets tired but his mood swings wildly. Wobble barely feels anything at all. Sugar spikes hardest and falls apart quickest. Eight critters, eight completely different maintenance problems. NINE FACES EACH Every creature is hand drawn for chilling, thriving, blissed out, fiending, meltdown, down bad, starving, running on empty and rough shape. You can read exactly how someone is doing from across the room. FORTY SKINS TO COLLECT Five looks per critter across five rarity tiers, and a skin repaints everything including the props they carry. Chip's dealer visor, Shroomie's cap, Fizzy's party hat. Every skin has a fixed price, so you save up and buy the exact one you want. DAILY CHALLENGES Three fresh challenges roll every midnight, with a streak bonus that grows the longer you keep showing up. THE LUCKY WHEEL Chip's favorite place on earth. Fake money, published odds, deliberately terrible. Losing is the joke. FREE TO PLAY, PROPERLY Everything is earnable. Degen Bucks come from daily challenges, the Lucky Wheel, and whatever Chip finds down the back of the sofa. Optional currency packs exist if you want to move faster, and nothing is locked behind them. NO ACCOUNT, NO TRACKING, NO INTERNET NEEDED There is no sign up and no ads. Your save lives on your device, the game works completely offline, and we collect nothing about you. A NOTE ON THE JOKE Degenchi is a comedy about cartoon animals with bad habits. The substances are invented, the money is fake, and none of it is advice, encouragement, or remotely realistic. If any of the themes here reflect something you are actually dealing with, please talk to someone qualified. That matters more than a game does.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Degenchi at none against Dewling's shown. On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dewling sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Degenchi sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
