Go in light, come out heavy. But it's only yours if you make it out alive. 2071. Sector 71 is a sealed military zone the government has given up on. Zombies roam the streets, and armed guards sit on anything worth taking. Gear up, search the crates, slip past or take down zombies, guards and bosses, then call a rescue chopper and get out alive. It's a 2D top-down zombie extraction shooter: die, and you lose your gear and your loot. And it's an offline survival game you play solo. ■ ZOMBIES THAT HUNT BY SOUND Gunfire and sprinting make noise, and nearby zombies swarm to it. Nine kinds roam the zone, from runners and brutes to screamers that call the horde, crawlers that grab your ankles and corpses that get back up. Armed patrols move in squads: riflemen, berserkers, snipers, shield bearers, looters and grenade-throwing military remnants. Save ammo and finish them quietly with a blunt weapon, toss a noise can to lure them away, or clear a path with smoke and flashbangs. In this zombie survival game, the best loot is worth a firefight. ■ 15-MINUTE RAIDS, ONE RESCUE CHOPPER Nine maps, each with its own feel: an Abandoned Village, a Derelict Factory, a Highway Rest Stop that only opens at night, a Sealed Subway, an Abandoned Laboratory, a Hospital Complex, a Forest Logging Camp, a Korean market town and a Japanese hot spring harbor. Only two rescue points open each run, all of them stay closed for the first 3 minutes, and once you call for rescue you have to hold your ground until the chopper lands. What's behind walls and behind you stays dark, so check corners, close doors, climb through windows and hide in wardrobes. At 12 minutes a storm warning sounds, and at 15 the zone storm hits. Greed versus escape: that's the heart of an extraction shooter. ■ YOUR BAG, YOUR WEIGHT, YOUR CALL Over 170 items to find, from laptops, graphics cards and classified documents to medicine, food, ammo and weapon parts. Search crates, fridges, lockers, fallen enemies and locked safes, then rotate and fit every item into a grid bag. The heavier you get, the worse your speed, stamina and footsteps, so you're always weighing light, valuable loot against heavy, cheap loot. Keep hunger and thirst in check, and anything in your hidden pouch survives even if you die. ■ COMBAT THAT HITS HARD Twin sticks to move and aim; push all the way to fire. Pick from 28 ranged weapons, from pistols and shotguns to marksman rifles, light machine guns and a crossbow, plus bats, crowbars and other blunt weapons, frag grenades, flashbangs, smoke, Molotovs and noise cans. Head, torso and limbs each take different damage. Guns wear out and jam the more you fire them, and you can tune them with sights, muzzles, magazines and other parts. Bandages, splints and medkits take time to use, so when you patch up can decide whether you live. Six maps are guarded by bosses, and the best guns in this top-down shooter unlock with boss tokens and trader reputation. ■ PREPARE IN YOUR HIDEOUT After each run, see what your haul was worth. Stack loot in your stash, sell it to 7 traders for better guns and gear, and take on jobs to build reputation. Craft ammo and supplies from over 70 recipes at the workbench, and upgrade your medbay, workbench, hidden pouch and storage. Six masteries, from Strength to First aid, grow run after run. Build houses for the survivors you rescue from the zone, and they'll make bandages, water and food even while the app is closed. The more you loot, the bigger your hideout grows and the easier your next extraction gets. ■ BEFORE YOU START · A single-player (PvE) game you can play without an internet connection.
