Grit
Read full descriptionHide full description
Grit is a workout log for the gym. You log your sets, the app remembers everything and shows you how you get stronger. No account, no sign-in, no cloud. Everything stays on your iPhone. LOG SETS FAST Every set with its own weight and reps. Set the weight with a tap instead of scrolling. A rest timer counts down between sets and notifies you when it's time to go again. YOUR COACH When you open a machine, Grit tells you what weight to use today. It goes by how hard your last session felt (RPE): if the last set was easy, it goes up. If it was tough, you hold. If you stall on the same weight for several sessions, the coach suggests a deload week. With an Apple Watch, it holds back the jump when your sleep and heart rate say you are not recovered. You can always override the suggestion. YOUR GOAL Muscle, strength, fat loss, staying fit or VOโmax. Your goal sets the rep range the coach aims for. With the VOโmax goal you also see your VOโmax trend from Apple Health. YOUR EQUIPMENT Add your own machines or load the built-in catalogue of around 90 standard exercises as a starting point. Rename everything to match your gym. SEE PROGRESS Charts per machine and per muscle group, plus a body heatmap of the muscles you trained. Training volume, not just personal bests. Grit detects new personal bests automatically and celebrates them. WORKS WITH MYO If you have Myo from the same developer, it shows on a 3D model which muscles you trained, with names and the last 14 days. For 32 exercises one tap takes you straight to that exercise in Myo. Myo is in German. WORKS WITH KEPT If you have Kept from the same developer, a workout in Grit checks off your must-do "Training" there. If Kept is missing, Grit suggests it after a workout, at most once a week. After two taps on "Not now" the suggestion never returns. STAY CONSISTENT A weekly streak, a weekly recap and a reminder when you've been away too long. Your lifted weight shown as a comparison. CARDIO Log cardio machines manually, or assign your Apple Watch workouts from Apple Health to a machine, with heart rate and calories. YOUR DATA IS YOURS Back up your training data any time and restore it, for example after switching phones. Only you share the file. PRIVATE Grit collects nothing. There is no user account and no server. What you log stays on your device. Apple Health is only read with your permission (body weight, workouts, heart rate, sleep, HRV, VOโmax and nutrition) and the data never leaves your iPhone. Grit is free and has no ads.
