Most savings apps make you feel guilty. Aside does the opposite — celebrate the purchases you resist, and watch that money push a goal you actually care about forward. No shame, no streaks to break, no leaderboards. Just proof you're getting better at the one skill that actually moves the needle. Say no. Watch it count. Tempted by something you don't need? Log it in seconds — Pip, Aside's resident squirrel, cheers every single time. Choose whether you actually moved the money to your goal, or just avoided the spend — Aside is always honest about what's real progress and what's a skill you're building. It counts both ways. Closing the gap on a goal isn't just about spending less — it's about making more too. Log extra income you put toward a goal exactly like you log a resisted purchase. Both are progress. Both get celebrated. Watch yourself get better. A weekly completion ring (never a streak to fear breaking), a real trend of your resisted spending over time, and an honest comparison to your own last 30 days — never to other people. This is the actual feedback loop that builds the habit. Goals that feel real. Create funds for a trip, an emergency cushion, a big purchase — anything. Set a target date and get a calm, once-and-done "suggested weekly amount" (never a nagging notification). Multiple currencies supported, no conversions, no confusion. Premium unlocks: Unlimited funds Full resisted-purchase history and insights Gentle daily reminders (never guilt-based) CSV export Free: your first 5 funds, the full resist-log loop, and weekly progress tracking — no credit card required to start. Aside doesn't link to your bank. Everything is entered by you, on your terms — no scraping, no sharing, no surprises. Levy
Read full descriptionHide full description
Levy is a private subscription tracker on this phone. No bank login, no mail scraping — you type what you pay, or you show it a screenshot. See what leaves this month. Decide. Close the app. Month is a queue of what leaves next; Charges reads as a monthly statement. A screenshot of your subscriptions page or a statement is read on the device and Levy proposes the charges — you decide what to keep. With Levy Pro you can also choose the assisted read: that one screenshot goes to Anthropic through Dualshade and is kept nowhere. A choice, per screenshot. Mark a charge as a trial and Levy reminds you before it converts, with the price it becomes. Intervals down to days, one-time payments, an optional monthly income and what remains of it, and a plain yearly count of what you cancelled. As you type, a list of known services offers names and typical prices; you confirm what is true. A CSV or a pasted list comes in, export goes the same way out. Reminders run on the device, once before a renewal — or not at all. No ads, no tracking, no account, no server holding your numbers. Levy is free for up to five charges, reminders and export included. Levy Pro adds unlimited charges, trial tracking and price checks against the catalog — as a subscription or a single payment. If you paid for Levy before, or used it before it had a price, you keep everything. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
Aside and Levy are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters — price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them — neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
