KNOW WHAT IS ON YOUR NETWORK Network Scan discovers devices on the Wi-Fi networks you join and gives you a clear, private inventory on your iPhone and iPad. See responding hosts, names, likely device types, services, open ports, and last-seen details without creating an account. WAKE A COMPUTER FOR FREE Save a compatible machine and send a Wake-on-LAN magic packet from your phone or tablet. Wake works best with wired desktops and servers that have Wake-on-LAN enabled in firmware and the operating system. SSH IS PRO Use a real, interactive SSH terminal with multiple sessions and essential keys above the keyboard. On iPhone, the terminal fills the screen and a slide-up drawer keeps saved hosts and open sessions close at hand. On iPad, a persistent Connections sidebar keeps hosts and sessions visible beside the terminal. Pro also adds: - Wake + SSH in one tap. Wake the machine, wait for its SSH service, and connect automatically. - Sleep requests over SSH, with presets for Linux, macOS, and Windows. - Custom device names, larger port scans, CSV export, and full scan history. CURRENT, HISTORY, AND SAVED Keep today's network view separate from dated scan snapshots and the machines you intentionally save. Watch network can check for changes for up to 10 minutes while the app is open, with optional alert tones. PRACTICAL NETWORK TOOLS Use Ping, DNS lookup, TCP checks, port scanning, banner checks, subnet tools, and other focused diagnostics. Results stay connected to the work you started. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Network Scan has no app account, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, or SEM cloud service. Scan history and saved connections stay on your device. Passwords and private keys are stored in iOS Keychain only when you choose to save them. FREE AND PRO Network scanning, essential diagnostics, and Wake-on-LAN are free. SSH is Pro. - Yearly: $19.99 USD, with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. - Lifetime: $49.99 USD as a one-time purchase. - No monthly plan. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in App Store settings. A free trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Wake-on-LAN requires compatible hardware, host configuration, and local network access. Wake + SSH requires a reachable SSH service and saved credentials. Sleep requests require an SSH account permitted to suspend the host. A sent request does not by itself prove that the computer woke or slept. Use Network Scan only on networks and systems you own or are authorized to administer. Socketta

See who's on your Wiโ€‘Fi, check your network's security and keep a speed history โ€” plus a full network bench. Everything is worked out on your device. No ads, no account, no tracking. WHO'S ON YOUR WIโ€‘FI โ€ข Finds the devices on your network and names them from what they announce (Bonjour, UPnP, NetBIOS, web pages) and from your router's DNS: name, maker, model and type. A device that announces nothing is shown by its address โ€ข Changes since the last scan: devices that appeared and devices no longer seen SECURITY CHECK โ€ข A read-only check of your router and devices: reachable remote-login, file-sharing, screen-sharing and camera services, ports forwarded from the internet (UPnP), an admin page without HTTPS, DNS that answers for names that don't exist, and certificate validation โ€ข A score and grade, what each finding means, and what was and wasn't checked. It checks network settings โ€” it is not a virus scan, and it never logs in or changes anything MEASURE โ€ข Speed test (Cloudflare): download, upload, latency, jitter and loss, kept with your provider's name, looked up on your device โ€ข TCP ping to any host and port (not ICMP), batch ping, a path check showing the destination's network operator, quality score and network diagnosis SCAN & DEVELOPER BENCH โ€ข LAN scanner (every host that answers a TCP probe), topology map, port scanner, DNS lookup, mDNS and UPnP browsers, scan diff, SSL viewer, WHOIS, HTTP headers, subnet calculator โ€ข HTTP/REST client with cURL/Postman import and code generation, WebSocket, MQTT, UDP/TCP, precision send, BLE central & peripheral, macros, profiles, schedules (while Socketta is open), export HONEST NOTES โ€ข iOS doesn't let apps read MAC addresses; devices are recognized by name, UPnP identity or address. Devices that answer nothing (phones asleep, firewalled PCs) can be missed โ€ข Socketta doesn't have Apple's multicast permission, so the UPnP browser asks each address directly and Wake-on-LAN sends to the device's IP address; some devices can't be found or woken this way โ€ข Ping is TCP: a closed port counts as loss. Local-network features need the Local Network permission. The speed test and the certificate check contact Cloudflare, and the DNS check asks your network's own DNS about two made-up names; nothing is sent to us FREE & PRO Free: unlimited device identification, changes since the last scan, 20 remembered devices on one network, the security score with every finding explained, speed test with the last 10 results, and the scanning and network tools; advanced tools have trial uses and a daily send allowance. Pro adds: alerts when a device never seen on that network before joins (while Socketta is open, or from the "Check This Network" Shortcuts action), a trusted list, device names and history, unlimited devices on every network, the device, port and step-by-step fix for each finding, re-check history and a report, the full speed history with a time-of-day chart and CSV export, and the advanced tools without limits. Weekly, monthly or annual subscription (free trial for new subscribers: 7 days on annual, 3 days on monthly and weekly) or a one-time lifetime purchase, charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage them in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Verdict

The call

Network Scan and Socketta are too close to call on the numbers: across 6 compared parameters โ€” price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases among them โ€” neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
