About

APRS World

Features

APRS World is a modern client for the global APRS-IS amateur radio network. Watch licensed stations move across a live map, read their telemetry, exchange APRS text messages, and — when you have a TNC — transmit packets over RF. Built for licensed amateur radio operators. APRS World is a viewer and a station; it is not a substitute for a valid radio license where transmission is involved. WHAT YOU GET • Live world map — APRS-IS stations stream in over a persistent WebSocket and render on a smooth MapLibre vector map. Pan and zoom anywhere in the world. • Station details — callsign, symbol, path, speed, course, comment, last-heard timestamp, and full packet history for every station. • Weather and telemetry overlays — visualize wind, temperature, pressure, and analog telemetry channels alongside positions. • Messaging — send and receive APRS text messages addressed to any callsign. Conversation view with delivery status. • Track Logger — record your own GPS trail locally and export the session as a GPX file. • Eleven languages — Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Dutch. • Dark and light themes — readable in the shack and outdoors. RF GATEWAY (TX FROM YOUR PHONE) APRS World can transmit real APRS frames through hardware you already own: • Bluetooth LE KISS TNC — pair a Bluetooth LE KISS-mode TNC and route beacons, messages, and proxy packets to the air. Tested with mainstream KISS-capable external TNCs. • TCP KISS — connect to a Direwolf or compatible KISS server on your local network for RF input and output. Note: AFSK direct-from-phone transmission is not enabled in this release. Use a TCP KISS gateway or a Bluetooth LE KISS TNC for over-the-air operation. PRIVACY • Your position is read only after you grant permission and is used for map centering, distance display, and — only if you turn it on — APRS beaconing. • APRS messages and beacons are transmitted to the public APRS-IS network by design. That is what APRS is. • No advertising. No location sale. No third-party tracking SDKs. • Crash and diagnostic reports are sent to Sentry to help us find bugs. PREMIUM A premium tier unlocks advanced features. Pricing and entitlements are visible inside the app — there is no third-party paywall and no advertising in the free tier. REQUIREMENTS • Amateur radio license required for transmission. The free map and message receive features work without one. • A KISS TNC (Bluetooth LE or TCP) is required for RF transmit. Many ham handheld radios include one. aprs.world Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://aprs.world/privacy APRS World Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, offered as a monthly or a yearly plan. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings.
