About

Luxdeck

Luxdeck turns your iPhone camera into a light meter. Point it at a lamp, a window, or a grow light and read four things at once: illuminance in lux (or foot-candles), PPFD and DLI for plants, and the color temperature of the light in kelvin. Most light meter apps make you buy or clip on a diffuser dome before the numbers mean anything. Luxdeck reads straight from the camera, so you can pull it out and measure whenever a question comes up: is this corner bright enough for the fern, how warm is this bulb, is the desk lit well enough to work. WHAT IT MEASURES Lux and foot-candles for everyday lighting. PPFD, the light plants actually use for photosynthesis. DLI, the total light a spot receives over a day. Color temperature in kelvin, from warm tungsten to cool daylight, with a warm-to-cool scale so you can read it at a glance. BUILT TO BE HONEST Every reading carries a small badge that tells you how confident the measurement is and whether the app has been tuned for your specific phone. No hidden fudging, no pretending a phone camera is a lab sensor. WORKS ANYWHERE, KEEPS TO ITSELF Everything runs on the phone. There is no account to create, no network call, and no data leaves the device. The camera is used only to read light in the moment; frames are never stored or sent. FOR GROWERS AND EVERYONE ELSE If you keep plants, Luxdeck reads PPFD and DLI so you can match a spot to what a plant needs. If you shoot photos, set up a room, or just want to know how bright and how warm a light is, the same numbers are there without any gardening jargon in the way. Free to use. A Premium upgrade unlocks unlimited saved history and CSV export for people who log readings over time. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.luxdeckapp.com/terms

About

PAR Meter

Features

Is your plant getting enough light? PAR Meter tells you in seconds. It measures the light your plants actually use, as PPFD right now and as DLI over the whole day. Pick your plant type and the gauges show green, yellow or red, together with advice on what to do. WHAT YOU GET β€’ PPFD in Β΅mol/mΒ²/s, the light at the canopy right now β€’ DLI in mol/mΒ²/day, the total light per day for your light period β€’ A recommended band on the gauges for your plant type β€’ Clear advice: move the lamp, dim it, or change the hours β€’ Lux and foot-candles as well PLANT TYPES Houseplants, orchids, succulents, seedlings, cuttings, microgreens, leafy greens, herbs, root vegetables, fruits and berries, fruiting vegetables, and high light plants in the vegetative and flowering stages. Each with its recommended light range. WORKS WITH ANY LIGHT LED grow lights, daylight, household LED, fluorescent, HPS, MH and CMH, or your own Β΅mol per lux factor. The right light source type is what makes the reading accurate. MADE FOR GROWERS β€’ Logarithmic gauge, precise both on a dim windowsill and under a strong lamp β€’ Hold button to freeze the reading before you take the phone out from the plants β€’ Save measurements with time and comments, and re-read them for another plant or light period β€’ Calibration for even better accuracy HOW TO USE Hold a white paper at the top of your plants, facing the light, and point the camera at it. Set your light period per day to get the DLI, and select the plant type for recommendations. WHY IT MATTERS Plants do not grow on lux. They grow on PAR, the light between 400 and 700 nm that photosynthesis can use. Too little gives pale, stretched growth. Too much wastes electricity and burns leaves. Measuring lets you hang your lamp at the right height, find the dark corners, and compare lamps. FREE TO USE Measuring PPFD, DLI and lux under daylight and white LED is free, with no time limit and no ads. The other light source types, saving measurements and calibration are available with a one-time fee or subscription, still at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated PAR meter.
