Cartesian Capture
Read full descriptionHide full description
Cartesian Capture is a LiDAR and photogrammetry scanning app ideal for GIS professionals, asset management teams, and anyone else who wants georeferenced reality capture. Create high resolution point clouds/meshes or photogrammetric meshes. With support for most coordinate systems used around the world, Cartesian Capture outputs fully georeferenced point cloud and textured meshes in LAS, E57, OBJ, or GLB. Cartesian Capture includes: - Photogrammetric based capture with LiDAR derived scaling. - LiDAR based capture (Ideal for pits, caves, and other areas where you can't move the camera enough for photogrammetry). - Two stage alignment for LiDAR scans (feature match + BALM), for aligning scans where there's a misclose or minor loss of SLAM. - Multiple GIS friendly output formats (LAS, E57, OBJ, GLB). - Measure directly on the mesh or point cloud. - Full georeferencing - Location + orientation. Requirements - LiDAR equipped iPhone or iPad (typically iPhone Pro, iPad Pro). iOS17+
Summe Calculator
Read full descriptionHide full description
Summe is a small calculator for big mathematics, with natural input, plots, matrices, finance, statistics, and much more. Readable math Thousands separator, implied multiplication, colored parentheses for natural and readable math. Plot 2D or 3D Graph curves, surfaces, and contour maps from the same input style, moving from quick sketches to full spatial views. Store results and more Save intermediate work and reuse it later, from quick totals to matrices, datasets, and custom formulas. Big function library Use built-in tools for finance, signal processing, probability, control, and numerical analysis. Equations Move between exact symbolic solutions and numerical roots, with plots that make crossings, branches, and solution structure visible. Ergonomic keypad Curved keys keep common actions close. Blue 2ND and green ALPHA modifiers, or long press on a key, reveal advanced symbols and variable names. Implicit functions Draw curves and surfaces from relationships directly, without first solving for a single output variable. Systems of equations Solve equations together, then use the plot to see the lines, planes, and their intersections. Derivatives Differentiate ordinary functions, even when formulas contain symbolic parameters. Then move into multivariable calculus with partial derivatives, and powerful operators like gradient, divergence, curl, Jacobian, Hessian, and Laplacian. Integrals Find antiderivatives and evaluate definite, improper, or multi-variable integrals from the same workflow. Differential equations Enter symbolic differential equations or numeric initial-value systems, then plot their behavior. Limits and series Evaluate one-sided limits, finite or infinite series, and recurrence sequences, including Fibonacci-style definitions in one line. Statistics Compute summaries, frequency tables, correlation, and regression models from stored data. Linear algebra Build matrices, then compute determinants, inverses, rank, row reduction, eigen data, and linear-system solutions. Vector field Describe and plot vector fields directly, or generate them from scalar models for physics, flow, electromagnetism, and geometry. Parametric curves Want to plot a spiral? Use coordinates that depend on a parameter, from flat paths to spatial curves. Parametric surfaces Sweep a two-parameter model into a complete 3D surface. Complex numbers Work naturally with phase, polar form, components, and conjugates, then display results in rectangular or polar mode. Optimization under constraints Find maximums and minimums with equality or inequality constraints, and see the allowed region and solution points on the plot. Random numbers Generate random samples, dice rolls, coin flips, and distributions, then turn samples into plots. Conversions Read binary and hexadecimal values directly, and convert integers across common number bases. Calculate everywhere Available from the major app stores for phone, tablet, and desktop. The math engine runs fully on your device: no cloud engine, no connection required. 57 languages The function browser is localized into your language across search, descriptions, and examples.

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: Summe Calculator at Free against Cartesian Capture's $4.99. Cartesian Capture's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly). On ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
