Photograph CRT televisions and monitors with fewer refresh bands. CRT Camera is an iPhone camera built specifically for CRT displays. Match the shutter duration to 50 Hz or 60 Hz, watch the result in the live preview, and fine-tune the exposure before you shoot. FEATURES • 50 Hz and 60 Hz presets • Live fine-tuning with slider and step controls • Shows the shutter duration actually applied by the camera hardware • Clear Confirmed, Approximate, and Adjusted status labels • Portrait and landscape capture • Review, save, or retake after every shot • HEIC and JPEG output • On-device processing CRT Camera helps reduce the dark bands and refresh artifacts that often appear when photographing retro televisions, arcade monitors, and other CRT screens. Results depend on the display, signal, lighting, and camera hardware, so artifacts may not disappear completely. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your photos stay on your iPhone. taeppl.mov isn't a filter. It's a camcorder. Every recording runs through live tape-era degradation — tracking artifacts, wobble, and signal drift, happening as you shoot, not applied after the fact. Play it back through the CRT mode and it looks like it's coming off an old television, not off your phone. There's no traditional editing — no trimming, no cutting, no rearranging clips. But you can do what a real camcorder always let you do: rewind into the middle of a take and record right over it. Drop a 10-second clip into the middle of a minute-long recording and it overwrites what was there, tape-style — no undo, no safety net, just the next take living where the old one used to be. Every recording has a hard length limit, like a real tape running out. When it's done, it's done — no infinite scroll, no bottomless camera roll, just a tape that ends. taeppl.mov is the video sibling to taeppl.wav — same honesty, same constraints, same belief that limitations make something feel like a real memory instead of just more footage. Record. Overwrite. Let it be a tape.
