DIT Media Calculator

DIT Media Calculator is a fast, accurate storage and media planner for on-set data management. Built for DITs, data wranglers, camera assistants and production, it turns a camera package into the numbers you actually need: how much storage per day, how much for the whole job, how many cards, how long offloads take, and how much archive and backup media to order. PLAN THE WHOLE SHOOT โข Add up to 26 cameras (AโZ), each with its own codec, resolution, frame rate, color profile and media card. โข Real manufacturer specs for ARRI, RED, Sony, Blackmagic, Canon, Panasonic and more โ with correct sensor modes, codec data rates and recording limits. โข Add your own custom cameras for anything not in the catalog. โข Model production audio alongside picture (tracks, sample rate, bit depth). INSTANT, HONEST NUMBERS โข Per-day and per-project storage, broken down by originals, proxies and audio. โข Camera cards on hand per day โ with a built-in three-card-per-camera safety floor so you never plan yourself short. โข Offload, transcode, LTO and upload time estimates. โข Shuttle drives, on-site backup sets, LTO tapes and cloud dailies, all sized for you. PROXIES, DAILIES & ARCHIVE โข Set up dailies and editorial proxy formats and see the extra storage and transcode time they add. โข Plan LTO archive copies and on-site RAID backups with verification factored in. PROFESSIONAL PDF REPORTS โข Export a clean, color-coded report for production โ Standard or full Technical. โข Add your company logo and DIT contact details to the header. โข Includes sensor coverage graphics in the Technical report. Prints correctly on black-and-white printers. BUILT FOR THE WAY YOU WORK โข Each project is a single .ditproj file you can back up, email or drop into a job folder. โข Choose where projects live โ a local folder, Dropbox, Drive or your NAS. โข Native app for both Mac and iPad, with a layout tuned for each. โข No account, no subscription, no cloud lock-in. Your data stays yours. Whether you are bidding a job, ordering media, or briefing production on the data plan, DIT Media Calculator gives you defensible numbers in minutes. RecceBoard
Read full descriptionHide full description
A recce board for directors, cinematographers. Previz made simple. Walk a location, film the shots you're thinking of, and push them around until the order feels right. Then press play and watch the whole thing as a film. The camera opens already framed to the board's format, and the lens buttons are labelled in millimetres โ the real focal length, so it means the same on any iPhone. Stop recording and you're in the trim. Next takes you back to the camera for the following shot. Shots sit where you put them, and the order of the film is the arrangement: left to right, top to bottom, the way a page reads. Move a shot and you've changed the cut. Record a voice-over over the whole thing or over a single shot, and lay music underneath. Export the film as a video or the board as a contact-sheet PDF, with your frame lines burned in. Boards sync through your own iCloud account, so you can start on the phone at the location and finish on the Mac. One purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. Share a board with a six-character code. Nothing is collected โ no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs. One purchase, no subscription. Want it to do something it doesn't yet? mail@carlooppermann.com
