Lyric Pilot
Read full descriptionHide full description
Lyric Pilot is a smart teleprompter made for singing. Paste any lyrics, prop up your phone, and sing โ it listens, recognizes the line you're singing, highlights it, and scrolls the next lines up on time. Like having a human teleprompter operator who knows the song. No fixed-speed scrolling that drifts out of sync. No tapping the screen mid-song. Lyric Pilot follows you, not a timer โ it pauses when you pause, keeps up when you come back in, and re-finds its place if you skip around. BUILT FOR SINGING Most voice-controlled teleprompters expect a steady reading voice. Singing is different โ held notes, repeated choruses, a breath between verses. Lyric Pilot's follower is made for how songs actually flow: โข Sing a line and it lights up โ your hands stay free. โข Hold a note or take a breath โ it waits with you. โข Jump ahead to the chorus or back a verse โ it finds you again. โข Any song, any arrangement โ the lyrics are whatever you paste. SET THE VIBE โข The prompter glows in the color you choose โ dial the vibe to match the song or the mood. โข Dark, high-contrast display that's easy to read at a glance โ even from across the room. โข Adjustable text size โ comfortable from the couch, the desk, or wherever the phone is propped. โข Portrait or landscape, phone or tablet. The screen stays awake for the whole song. YOUR SONGS, YOUR WAY โข Add a song and paste its lyrics โ that's the whole setup. โข Prefer manual control? Switch to manual mode and scroll by hand on a clean, distraction-free display. โข Your song library, organized and searchable, with import/export to move songs between devices. FREE TO USE โ NEVER A SUBSCRIPTION Everything that matters is free: the listening prompter, manual mode, color vibes, and room for 10 songs. Need more? One small one-time unlock makes your library unlimited โ yours for life. No subscription. No ads. No account. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Everything happens on your device. Speech recognition runs locally, your lyrics never leave your phone, and the app collects no data โ it doesn't even connect to the internet. No account, no sign-up, no tracking. Also great for speeches, presentations, and any script you deliver out loud. English-language recognition in this version.
PracticeSession

PracticeSession is a complete music practice toolkit, made for the phone. Slow a song down, loop the two bars you keep missing, change the key, and isolate the part you are learning. Import your own audio and work on it offline, with no account, no ads and nothing to sign up for. What the free app does Independent speed and pitch, so tempo and key move separately. A waveform you can zoom into, with regions and markers placed where the music needs them. Looping that starts where you tap, on a passage as short as you like. Stems: play a song as separate parts, mute the guitar, solo the bass. Bring your own, or separate a song in the cloud with credits you buy in the app. A chromatic tuner, so you can tune without leaving the app. Song notes: what to fix, a checklist, tuning, capo, and files you attach to the song. Background playback, with controls on the lock screen. What Pro adds Loop Manager: chain regions into a sequence, and let Speed Training and Key Acrobat raise the tempo and move the key as you loop. Practice Manager: plan a timed session across songs, run it with a cue when time is up, and note what to work on next. Lyrics: words that follow the song, timed by tapping along, with sections, versions and chords over the lines. Chords: a chord chart for the song, read as symbols, degrees or Nashville numbers, in any key. Setlists: build running orders, keep a key and a note per song, and run a set on stage with the words in front of you. A 14-day trial opens all of it, with no account and nothing to cancel. When the trial ends, everything you wrote in Lyrics and Chords stays readable. With the desktop app PracticeSession also runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. Sign in with the same email and your library follows you: the songs, the regions and sequences you built, your notes and your setlists.

Verdict
Lyric Pilot and PracticeSession are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters โ price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them โ neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
