What was supposed to be just a quick tweet turns into tapping a notification that popped up when I turned off my alarm, and what was supposed to be a short video to refresh myself during a break at work somehow turns into an hour passing by before I realize it. DopaWalk locks the apps you choose after a certain amount of time, keeping them locked until you walk a specified number of steps. And it does this while playing music. Instead of just locking content like social media and short videos that tend to trap you in endless mindless scrolling, forcing you to rely on willpower and self-restraint to stop, DopaWalk is a music-walking app designed to prevent smartphone and digital addiction and help you reclaim your true self by naturally reminding you of a pleasant experience we have known since long ago: how enjoyable it is to go for a walk while listening to music. It can be tough to feel like you "have to" walk down familiar neighborhood streets. And if someone tells you to do it while you are in the middle of easy-reward scrolling, you won't feel motivated at all. However, if you play upbeat music, or walk through a night city while listening to nostalgic tunes, even your usual streets look different. If you walk while playing background music from a role-playing game, you feel as though you are having an adventure in another world. We all know that kind of power music holds. The goal of this app is not to rely on willpower or self-restraint, but to "transform mindless scrolling into the enjoyable experience of walking with music." β–  Choose the Apps You Want to Restrict Social media, short videos, and even notifications from AI agents. You can choose the apps that cause you to waste too much time or distract you during important morning and evening hours, and the app will lock them after you use them for a specified time. You cannot extend the time by 15 minutes with a single tap. To unlock the apps, you need to go outside and walk the specified number of steps. β–  Built-in Apple Music Player DopaWalk features a built-in Apple Music player so you can smoothly start playing music and head out for a walk after the apps are locked. There is no information on recommended songs or trending artists; you simply choose your favorite album, free from unnecessary distractions, and start walking right away. * If you use Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, or LINE MUSIC, the DopaWalk app will only display a button to launch those music apps. β–  Privacy is Protected - Due to the nature of iOS Screen Time, only you know which apps are restricted and how many minutes you spend on them. - Step counts and Apple Music playback history are all handled locally on your device by simply calling standard iOS APIs, and nothing is sent to any servers. β–  Other Features - Equipped with a "Morning Lock" feature that prevents you from opening specified apps unless you go for a walk in the morning before heading out, not just when you use apps too much. - The lock screen changes depending on the time of day. Instead of just delivering prohibitions or restrictions, it includes accompanying messages designed to encourage the kind of day your true self wants to spend. * DopaWalk is not a medical device. Please pay close attention to your surroundings while walking.
