You donβt need to learn all of Markdown. # at the start of a line makes a heading, - makes a bullet, and / opens a menu of tables, checklists and diagrams. Those three are all you need to keep notes that read far better than a plain notes app. What you type takes shape where you typed it, so there is no preview pane to switch to. No Google account is required β the app works with this device alone. Sign in and your notes are kept in your own Google Drive, becoming a private notebook you can pick up from Windows, Mac, iPad, iPhone or the browser. β Open what AI writes Ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another AI to summarize something in Markdown, then open it here as is β it reads cleanly and stays editable. It's a plain Markdown file, so you can paste it back into an AI to keep going, or drop it straight into Notion or GitHub without reformatting. β Ask AI (with your own API key) Add an API key for OpenAI (GPT), Anthropic (Claude) or Google (Gemini) and you can ask AI from inside the app. Β· On selected text β polish, shorten, make formal, translate, turn into a table or a diagram Β· From the whole note β meeting notes & to-dos, summarize, extract to-dos, tidy into Markdown, continue writing Β· In your own words β have it draft a how-to or a first version Check the answer before it goes into your note, and undo it in one step. Usage is billed by the service you choose, and your key stays on this device. β What people use it for Β· A notepad that reads better β jot things down and they turn into tidy headings and bullet points. As light as a plain text editor, far easier to read back Β· Meeting notes β organize the discussion as it happens and put decisions in a table Β· To-do lists and tasks β list what needs doing as a checklist and tick items off Β· Journal, diary and daily log β keep a note per day and find anything later with full-text search Β· A personal wiki β link notes to one another and build a notebook of what you know Β· Docs, how-tos and blog drafts β outline with headings, then paste the plain Markdown anywhere Β· A Markdown viewer β open an .md file and read it with its tables and headings in place Β· Code and command snippets β kept with syntax highlighting, copied in one click β Features Β· Styling as you type β headings, bold, italic, quotes, rules, footnotes and nested lists are formatted the moment you write them Β· Type / at the start of a line to insert tables, checklists, diagrams, math and more Β· Tables render as tables β click one to go back to the raw Markdown and edit it Β· Diagrams (flowcharts, sequence diagrams and more) from mermaid syntax, and math from TeX, drawn inline Β· Collapsible sections (details) and clickable checkboxes Β· Code blocks with syntax highlighting and a one-click copy button Β· Images and file attachments, with PDFs opening right in the app Β· Paste a URL and get a link preview card Β· Full-text search across all your notes Β· Six themes (Light, Sepia, Solar, Dark, Night, Contrast) and three text sizes Β· Available in 12 languages β Choose where your notes live Β· Google Drive β saved automatically, with no save button. Your Drive folders stay as they are, and shared drives and multiple Google accounts are supported Β· On this device β no sign-in needed. On Mac and Windows you can also open any folder you already have Β· In Google Drive, the app only touches files it created and files you explicitly open β About usage Β· Free to use.
Foldleaf Reader
Read full descriptionHide full description
Foldleaf Reader is a reader and notetaker for PDFs and EPUBs that turns pages like paper, trims the margins off every page, and lets you write and highlight with the Apple Pencil β on iPad, iPhone and iPhone Duo. PAGES THAT TURN β’ Page Curl: drag a page from its edge and it follows your finger, the next one waiting underneath. β’ Vertical Page Curl: a page hinged along its top, turned upward like a wall calendar. β’ Or flick through pages, scroll down one long column, or scroll across the pages side by side. β’ One page or two side by side, chosen for you whenever the window is wide enough. MARGINS GONE β’ Crop View trims every page of a PDF once β drag a rectangle round what matters, and the whole document opens that way from then on. β’ Most papers waste a third of each page on white space. Crop it, and every page is bigger. β’ Zoom Lock holds your framing from page to page; Horizontal and Vertical Zoom Lock keep a zoomed-in column steady as you scroll. WRITE AND HIGHLIGHT β’ Four pens β Pen, Fountain Pen, Pencil and Marker β with six colours and six nib widths, each responding to the Pencil's pressure and tilt in its own way. β’ Hold the pen still at the end of a line and it snaps straight. β’ A highlighter in five colours: select text, or simply sweep across the lines, in PDFs and EPUBs alike. β’ Double-tap the Apple Pencil for the rubber. Pick up the pen or highlighter just by bringing the Pencil to the page. β’ Share a PDF with your ink and highlights written in as standard annotations, readable in Preview, Acrobat and other apps. PAPERS AND BOOKS, BUILT IN β’ Browse arXiv inside the app and save a paper in one tap β it arrives named for its number, authors and title. β’ Project Gutenberg's tens of thousands of free books, saved as EPUBs with their illustrations. β’ A web browser that keeps any PDF or EPUB you tap. β’ Or add files from Files and iCloud Drive. Edit a PDF in place, and your annotations are saved into the original wherever it lives. A LIBRARY THAT STAYS TIDY β’ Folders, favourites and recents, sorted and viewed the way each folder likes. β’ Search titles and authors, search inside a book, and name your bookmarks. β’ Deleted books wait in the Bin for a week, in case you change your mind. MADE FOR READING β’ Controls along the top, or in a column down the side so a tall page keeps its height. β’ Paper colours from white to beige to black, and an appearance that follows the system or doesn't. β’ Fullscreen with a small corner cluster, keyboard shortcuts, and trackpad and mouse support. β’ Left-handed layout, Keep Screen On, and support for VoiceOver. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no sign-in, no tracking and no analytics. Your library stays on your device. TRY EVERYTHING FREE Every feature is free for 14 days. After that, reading, your library, paged view and the plain backgrounds stay free β and so does everything you have already marked or cropped. Page curl, scrolling, the zoom locks, paper colours, Crop View, the pen, the highlighter, side controls and Back and Forward unlock with a single purchase: once, not a subscription, and on your iPhone and iPad alike.
