Practice

A meditation timer should be the one thing you do not have to check. Practice is a quiet, reliable meditation timer for people who prefer to meditate on their own. Choose a familiar duration or build a multi-stage preset, select starting and ending sounds, silence or ambience ā and put your phone down. The active timer is saved on your iPhone, keeps accurate time while the app is in the background, and restores the exact state when you return. Pauses and interruptions are not counted as meditation. For extra reassurance, you can enable a system alarm as a backup shortly after the practice ends. Practice stays out of the way while you sit. Dim the screen with one tap, or control the timer from Live Activity, Dynamic Island, and the Lock Screen. When you finish, see the time you actually meditated. A simple calendar and clear statistics show your total time, average practice length, completed practices, and days meditated ā to notice a habit forming, without pressure or competition. HIGHLIGHTS ⢠Unlimited custom presets with multiple timed stages ⢠Four distinct bowl and gong sounds ⢠Silent meditation and optional ambience sound ⢠Background timing and accurate recovery ⢠Live Activity, Dynamic Island, and Lock Screen controls ⢠Progress calendar and practice statistics ⢠iCloud sync, data export, and restore No separate account is required. Your data is stored locally and, when sync is enabled, in your private iCloud. We do not keep a separate copy of your meditation history or use third-party analytics SDKs. No courses. No feed. Just a dependable place to meditate on your own.
Zen Timer
Read full descriptionHide full description
Zen Timer is a simple meditation timer with no ads, no popups, and nothing extra on the screen. Set your time, sit, and let the singing bowl tell you when you're done. Spin the zen circle to set your duration. The bowl chimes three times to begin your session, the way sittings open in traditional Zen practice, and one chime ends it. Meditations are logged with a calendar heatmap and a daily streak, so you can watch your practice build over time. If you'd rather have just the timer, logging can be switched off entirely. HOW IT WORKS ⢠Spin the wheel to set your time ⢠A short preparation countdown lets you settle ⢠Three bowl strikes open the meditation, one closes it ⢠Your session is saved to the heatmap automatically Whether your practice is shamatha, zazen, vipassana, breathwork, or a simple daily mindfulness habit, this minimalist meditation timer stays out of the way and keeps the time. Zen Timer is free, and supported by the donations of generous meditators
