Attune
Read full descriptionHide full description
Attune lets you hear what your headphones would sound like tuned, before you change anything, and without buying a different pair. Pick the headphones you own. Attune loads their measured frequency response, works out the difference between that and a target, and applies the correction to music playing right now. Toggle Stock and Matched to hear it. The two sides are loudness-matched, so you are judging tone rather than volume. The louder one always wins otherwise, and that is not a preference. THE GRAPH IS THE SOUND The curve on screen is computed from the same filters that are processing the audio. When the graph moves, the sound moves with it. Nothing is smoothed for looks. THREE WAYS TO AIM · Warren Labs is our house voice: neutral through the mids, warm down low, eased up top, the way a good room sounds. Adjust warmth, vibrancy and treble ease and the graph follows you. · Another headphone lets you hear a different headphone's voice on the pair you already own. We take the difference between the two and correct for it, loudness-matched. A try-before-you-buy audition, not the real thing, and it says so. · Your sound is your own result from the ear exam, over the house voice. FIND YOUR SOUND: A BLIND EAR EXAM Tap A and B, keep the one you prefer. The contrast starts wide and narrows as you go, so every choice stays easy to hear, and the pairs are blind so you are judging sound rather than labels. "They sound the same to me" is a real answer: we leave that band alone rather than guess at a preference you do not have. It is a preference tuner, not a hearing test. FINE TUNE Voice-match gets your headphones to the target as measured on our rig. What is left is how your ears couple to your pair, which no rig can know. Sweep a probe, and when something sticks out, pull it down. BRING YOUR OWN MEASUREMENT: FREE, ALWAYS Import a raw measurement as CSV, AutoEq or squig format and Attune will voice-match to it. This is not a paid feature and will not become one. YOUR OWN MUSIC Attune ships with a demo track so the whole flow works the moment you open it. Point it at a music folder, or open a single file, to audition with your own: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, ALAC, AAC or MP3. Streaming services stay in their own apps. Attune tunes the music you own. WHAT WE WILL NOT CLAIM The neutral baseline is derived from a diffuse-field reference measured on a Head Acoustics HMS II.3, transferred to the miniDSP EARS Pro baseline and validated two independent ways to 0.33 dB. Attune does not measure your ears, and it cannot. Above roughly 10 kHz the detail that matters is too narrow and too dependent on how the headphones sit to be fixed by any broad EQ. No software honestly can. What Attune fixes is the part that is wide enough to matter. FREE The whole audition flow, the ear exam, fine tune, measurement import, and one saved sound, kept permanently. Not a trial. ATTUNE PRO: ONE PURCHASE, $39, NO SUBSCRIPTION Unlimited saved sounds, and EQ export as a standard AutoEq file. Load that file onto a DSP dongle from a computer at warrenlabs.com/tune and it applies to everything you play, including streaming, because the dongle EQs the audio at the output. Attune Pro is a Universal Purchase. Buy it on your Mac and it is already unlocked here, and the other way round. Measurements are our own, taken on our own rig, and the app tells you the uncertainty rather than hiding it.

Every headphone sounds different. ToneEQ helps every pair sound like yours. ToneEQ is a headphone equalizer and local music player that remembers how you like to listen. Create a sound profile for each headphone, speaker, or DAC, then automatically restore the right EQ when your audio device changes. CALIBRATE YOUR HEADPHONES Choose a supported headphone model and start with its AutoEq correction profile, or begin with a flat response and tune the sound yourself. ToneEQ keeps headphone correction separate from your personal preferences, so you can improve accuracy without losing the bass, warmth, vocal presence, or brightness you enjoy. SHAPE YOUR SOUND FOR FREE The essential sound controls are available without a subscription: • 10-band graphic equalizer • Real-time frequency response curve • Instant EQ bypass for A/B comparison • Automatic preamp compensation • Output headroom estimation • Built-in clipping protection • One automatically restored device profile PLAY YOUR OWN MUSIC Import audio from Files, iCloud Drive, and compatible file providers. Your local music is played through the ToneEQ audio engine, giving you full access to its equalizer and sound profiles—even without an internet connection. Supported formats include: • FLAC • ALAC • MP3 • AAC and M4A • WAV • AIFF Browse your library by song, album, artist, or folder. Build a queue, search your collection, control playback from the Lock Screen, and keep listening in the background. THE RIGHT EQ FOR EVERY DEVICE ToneEQ detects changes to your current audio route and clearly shows which device and sound profile are active. When you reconnect a saved headphone or DAC, ToneEQ can restore its assigned EQ automatically. No screenshots, repeated adjustments, or forgotten presets. GO FURTHER WITH TONEEQ PRO ToneEQ Pro adds advanced control, personalization, and profile management: • Parametric EQ with up to 10 filters • Precise frequency, gain, and Q controls • Multiple named EQ profiles • Profiles for multiple audio devices • Automatic profile selection • Personal Listening Match • Separate correction, preference, and scene layers • Profile import and export • Private iCloud profile sync FIND YOUR SOUND BY LISTENING You do not need to understand frequencies or read an EQ graph. Listening Match presents a series of carefully controlled A/B comparisons. Simply choose which version sounds better. ToneEQ gradually learns your preferences for bass, warmth, vocals, and brightness, then creates a personal EQ profile you can preview and edit. CLEAR ABOUT WHAT IS BEING PROCESSED ToneEQ applies software EQ to supported audio played through its own audio engine. Apple Music content can be browsed and controlled through Apple’s platform player. Because protected Apple Music audio remains in Apple’s playback path, ToneEQ clearly shows when software EQ is unavailable. ToneEQ does not claim to provide system-wide EQ for audio from other apps. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your audio files stay yours. Sound processing and Listening Match calculations happen on your device by default. ToneEQ does not upload your music, sell your personal information, or show third-party advertising. Optional profile synchronization uses your private iCloud database and never uploads audio files. Switch headphones. Keep your sound. Terms of Use (EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: ToneEQ at every 2 days against Attune's fortnightly. Attune's advantage is iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
