LapLync

LapLync keeps every device on the same clock — precisely. Whether you're timing sprint drills on the sideline, running a swim meet, or coordinating a field exercise across multiple stations, LapLync starts all devices at exactly the same millisecond and keeps them together even when connectivity drops. FOR COACHES AND TRAINERS Hand athletes their phones, share a 6-digit room code (or let them scan your QR), and tap Start. The 3-2-1 countdown fires on every screen simultaneously. Laps and splits are logged automatically — no additional hardware, no manual data entry. FOR COMPETITION TIMEKEEPERS AND OFFICIALS Assign devices to each judge station or timing post, create a room, and every device runs in perfect sync whether they're on the same venue Wi-Fi or each using their own mobile data. Sub-50ms precision, anchored to Apple's NTP time servers. NEVER DROPS — THREE-LAYER RESILIENCE LapLync's connection system degrades gracefully so measurement never stops: • Bluetooth + Wi-Fi (5–30ms): used first when devices share a local network • Internet via WebSocket (30–140ms): auto-switches when devices aren't on the same network • Independent mode: if all connectivity fails, each device keeps running from its NTP anchor — recordings merge automatically when the connection restores A brief "Reconnecting…" banner appears. The stopwatch never pauses. NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED Create a room and share the 6-character code by voice, chat, or QR scan. Participants join in seconds. No sign-up, no password, no email address. When the session ends, the room disappears. UNDO OR DELETE A LAP Recorded the wrong lap? Tap Undo right after it's logged (can be turned off in Settings), or long-press any lap — or swipe in the full lap list — to delete it. The host can delete any lap; participants can delete their own. Deletions sync to every device. HANDS-FREE LAP RECORDING Record laps without touching the screen: the volume buttons, a Bluetooth shutter remote, or a keyboard/page-turner remote. Optional and off by default — turn it on in Settings. LIVE ACTIVITY Watch the running stopwatch right on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Optional — turn it off anytime in Settings. WHAT'S INCLUDED Free • Rooms with 2 devices — you and one more • Join any room as a participant, as often as you like • Synchronized start, lap recording, and split times • Full connectivity: local Bluetooth/Wi-Fi, internet relay, and automatic fallback • Your 3 most recent sessions, saved locally LapLync Pro — a one-time in-app purchase • Rooms with up to 8 devices • CSV export — share via AirDrop, Mail, or any app • Unlimited session history, saved locally Only the person who creates the room needs Pro. Joining is always included — hand a phone to anyone and they can take part. No subscription, no ads, no account. One shared clock. Every phone in sync. Time a race with the devices already in your volunteers' pockets. No account, no login, just the code from your race director. The start only fires once, so the clock should only exist once. Run This Stopwatch keeps the official race clock on the server, and every phone at the course reads the same time to the second. Start the clock when the race starts, tap Record as runners cross, and type the bib now or tie it on later when the rush clears. AT THE FINISH LINE • One big Record button, built for fast taps in gloves • Times are stamped by the click so two devices never disagree • Tap a bib from the roster and the runner's name fills in automatically • Missed a bib in the rush? Record the time anyway. Rows that still need a bib stay flagged until someone ties them on • A running count of finishes, and how many still need bibs ONE CLOCK, MANY DEVICES • A two-person finish line sees each other's taps within seconds • Fix a time, bib, or name from any device, and every device updates • Show newest finishes first, or finish order, per device • Stopping the clock pauses it for everyone, and you can still record late finishers SPLITS, NOT JUST THE FINISH • Your director can set up checkpoints along the course. Pick the one you are standing at • Put a phone at mile 5 and another at the finish, and both feed the same race WHEN THE DUST SETTLES • Every tap appears live in your race director's dashboard • Export the full list as a CSV, or email it in one tap • Your director can publish finish times straight to the event's results on Run This MADE FOR VOLUNTEERS • No account and no login. Just the code from your race director. • Everyone timing the race uses the same code • Dark mode for when it's your vibe Run This Stopwatch works with events that use Run This for registration. You will need a stopwatch code from your race director to get started.
