About

Hexwick

You are a wizard, and everything that comes at you is here to stop you. Hexwick is a one-handed action roguelike. Drag to move, stop to attack: the moment you stand still, your wizard aims and fires on his own. All you decide is where to stand and which power to take. โ–  A DIFFERENT WIZARD EVERY RUN Choose from 19 abilities and stack them as you level up. Take one ability four times, own its partner, and it evolves: fire that spreads from enemy to enemy, ice that shatters frozen foes, lightning that leaves a storm ring on the ground, death blasts that spray shrapnel. Only one evolution per run, so choose well. Every run plays out differently. โ–  THE SPELLBOOK Your runs make you stronger for good. Spend gold in the Spellbook to unlock a random skill page, then upgrade it up to level 5. Every level you add makes that skill stronger in every run, Nightmare included. 17 pages to fill. Gold comes from stages, chests and Nightmare runs. โ–  60 STAGES, 23 BOSSES Sixty stages across green forests, dirt trails, open desert, a slate cave, red clay, temple marble and lava fields. Every three stages share a map, then you move on to a new arena. Twenty-three different bosses wait along the way, each with its own attack pattern and its own rhythm. There is no getting past them without learning the pattern. โ–  24 MONSTER TYPES Some charge you, some shoot from range, some burrow and burst up beneath you. One hides behind a shield, one fires a beam across the arena, one hooks you and yanks itself in, one pulls you toward it, one gets back up if you don't finish it. The one that splits as it dies and the one that explodes have to be learned separately. As the crowd grows, the question stops being where to aim and becomes where not to run. โ–  GEAR AND CHESTS 5 sets, 6 slots, 30 pieces: staff, armor, helm, boots, amulet, bracelet. Equip what drops from chests and grow stronger โ€” every piece upgrades to +9 with gold. Wear a full set and a separate bonus unlocks. The shop shows each chest's drop odds before you buy it. No surprises. โ–  NIGHTMARE MODE AND THE LEADERBOARD Clear stage 25 and Nightmare Mode opens: no stages, no ending, pure survival. All that counts is how long you last, and your time goes onto the global leaderboard. There are no revives in Nightmare: when you fall, the run is over. โ–  9 SKINS Cosmetic only. Every skin has its own projectile look. It touches nothing about your power โ€” it just looks like you. โ–  PLAYS OFFLINE On a plane, in the metro, anywhere with no signal. Stages need no connection; your progress lives on your device. Nightmare Mode is the exception: its leaderboard is global, so that mode needs a connection. When you do go online, your save backs up to the cloud; link your account and a new phone picks up where you left off. โ–  BUILT FOR PHONES One hand, one finger, portrait. A stage takes about 10โ€“20 minutes, and you can pause any time. โ–  IN 8 LANGUAGES English, Turkish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Indonesian. Menus, abilities, monsters and boss names are all translated. A world drawn pixel by pixel, hand-made boss patterns, and a wizard rebuilt from scratch every run. One wizard against endless waves โ€” welcome to Hexwick.
