6Beds — The Voice of California's Small Care Homes For more than a decade, 6Beds has stood with the operators of California's residential care homes of six residents or fewer. Our members run Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs) serving individuals with developmental disabilities and Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFEs) — providing quality, affordable care in real neighborhoods, in family-style homes. The 6Beds app puts our entire community in your pocket. STAY INFORMED Get timely alerts on the issues that matter most to small-home operators: labor law developments, risks and liability, Title 22 and Title 17 regulations, and bed vacancy. When something changes in Sacramento or at the Department of Social Services, you'll know. CONNECT WITH THE 6BEDS COMMUNITY Join fellow ARF and RCFE operators across California. Ask questions, share what's working, and get real answers from people who run homes just like yours. No one understands the challenges of small care homes like another operator — and now they're one tap away. A VOICE IN SACRAMENTO 6Beds is represented at the State Capitol by veteran advocates Robert W. Naylor, former California Assembly Republican Leader, and Roxanne Gould of Gould Government Relations, with more than 25 years of experience in residential care legislation. When lawmakers consider policies affecting small care homes, the 6Beds Community has a seat at the table. EXPERT RESOURCES Access practical guidance built specifically for small-home operators, including the Wage & Hour Guide for Residential Care Facilities by Tammy D. McCutchen of Littler Mendelson — former Administrator of the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division and principal architect of the 2004 federal overtime regulations. She wrote the federal rulebook. Now she's written yours. EVENTS THAT BRING US TOGETHER From Advocacy Day at the State Capitol each April, to our Annual Conference, to the Emerald Excellence Gala celebrating the best in our profession — find every event, RSVP, and stay connected before, during, and after. WHY 6BEDS Homes of six or fewer residents are protected by the Fair Housing Act, allowing individuals with disabilities and frail seniors to live in residential neighborhoods, in family-type settings. That protection is where our name comes from — and defending it is why we exist. Our members are licensed by the Department of Social Services and meet the same Health and Safety Code and Title 22 standards as large corporate operators — the difference is that our homes are in residential communities, and our care is affordable. Whether you've operated homes for twenty years or are just getting licensed, the 6Beds Community is your community. Download the app and join us.
