Some rooms you find. This one finds you. Epopteia is the reading room of Galena House, the literary world of author Avery Lane Maxwell. Every book on the shelf is free to read — no account to make, no name it needs from you. The lamp is already lit. And the house reads aloud. The Hearth plays the house's own warm narration beneath the page while you read: pause it, scrub it, let it turn the pages for you. The first chapter of every narrated work is read free; the complete audiobook of Still, by Design. belongs to holders of the Audiobook seat, available from the house. Inside the room: the featured novel and the full shelf, a living feed of photographs from an inn at nine thousand feet, The Amber Thread (the magazine of the house), the House Journal written between arrivals, and a preview of the second book before anywhere else. The room remembers where you stood — on your own device and nowhere else. Physical books, in cloth and paper, are sold out in the world; the signed copies come from the house's own shop.
