You don't decide to lose an hour. You just open the app. Feedlock puts a wall in front of the apps that eat your evenings and a slow breath in front of the wall. Not a timer you'll ignore. Not a limit you'll tap past. A real stop. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick what pulls you in. Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, news whatever your thumb goes to without asking. 2. Feedlock shields them using Apple's own Screen Time lock. 3. When you reach for one anyway, you get a breath and a question: what are you actually here for? Most of the time, that's enough. You put the phone down. WHEN A BREATH ISN'T ENOUGH Strict Mode locks a block so that even you can't lift it early. Pick an hour, an evening, or until 7 AM, hold to confirm, and it's done. No settings menu to sneak into at 1 AM. That's the point. Schedules put it on rails sleep hours, work hours, every weekday so you stop having to decide. THE PART NOBODY ELSE DOES Name a friend as your witness. If you override a block, they're told. That's it. No lectures, no dashboards — just someone who knows. It turns out that being seen is the cheapest willpower there is, and it changes what you do at 1 AM more than any app ever will. They can send you a nudge back. You can drop them any time. WHAT YOU GET FREE - Block as many apps and sites as you want - The breathing gate before every one - 7 days of stats: what you dodged, and the time you got back FEEDLOCK PRO - Strict Mode blocks you can't lift early - Recurring schedules - Your accountability partner - Full history, trends and patterns - Adult-site filtering across the whole phone - Alternate app icons PRIVACY Feedlock can't see what you browse, and doesn't want to. Your quiz answers never leave your phone. There is no ad tracking, no advertising SDK, and no data sold ever. Sign in with Apple or an email address. Your blocks, streak, schedules and witness live on your account, so they follow you to a new phone. --- Feedlock Pro is available as a yearly subscription that renews until you cancel, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Instagram without the Reels. YouTube without the Shorts. X without For You. Free. FeedOff opens Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, LinkedIn and Facebook in a calmer browser with the parts built to keep you scrolling hidden: Reels, Shorts, Explore, For You, suggested posts, ads and autoplay. Your DMs, stories, profiles, search, subscriptions and posting all keep working. It's the real site, with less of it. THE CALM BROWSER • Instagram: no Reels tab, no Explore, no suggested posts, no ads. Home feed of people you follow, stories, DMs, profiles and posting stay. Optional: hide AI-labelled posts, hide reposts, or hide the whole feed and keep only stories. • YouTube: opens on your Subscriptions. No Shorts, no Home recommendations, no autoplay-next, no video ads. Search, watch, history and playlists stay. • X: opens on Following. No For You, no trends, no promoted posts. • Reddit: your communities, no Home or Popular feed, no ads, no "Open App" prompts. • LinkedIn: messages, notifications and jobs, no feed. • Facebook: groups, Marketplace, messages and events. No News Feed, no Reels, no 'People you may know'. • Every one of these is a toggle. Want Explore back? Flip it. • Grayscale per app, if colour is what pulls you in. THE SHIELD • Block the real apps on a schedule, or always. They open to a calm block screen that points back to FeedOff. Works for TikTok and any other app too. • Built on Apple's Screen Time, so it's reliable and private: FeedOff never sees which apps you pick or how long you use them. • Notifications from the real apps still arrive, so you never miss a message. • Someone sent you a link? Copy it and open FeedOff: the post opens here, without the feed. WIDGETS • Each platform as a Home Screen and Lock Screen widget. Put them where the real icons used to be. One tap, no feed. • Control Center buttons and Siri shortcuts too. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no sign-up. You log in to each site directly, in Apple's standard web view. FeedOff never sees your password. • Everything stays on your phone. No analytics, no tracking, no server. • The only thing FeedOff downloads is a small public file of filter rules, so fixes reach you without waiting for an app update. Read it on GitHub. FREE No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. The paid apps in this category charge monthly for app blocking and ad hiding. FeedOff includes both. FeedOff is an independent app. It isn't made by or connected to Instagram, YouTube, X, Reddit, LinkedIn or Facebook. Made for people who want their evenings back.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Feedlock at 5.0 against FeedOff's 4.2. FeedOff's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Feedlock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year. FeedOff asks for nothing beyond the download.
Feedlock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FeedOff has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
