Camera glasses announce themselves over Bluetooth. ZuckOff listens for those announcements and tells you when a lens is in the room. ■ What it spots • Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta, by the manufacturer signature in their Bluetooth advertisement • Snap Spectacles • Display glasses and headsets, including Quest and Vision Pro, are named in the log but never flagged: a headset is a camera you can see coming • The full list, and how each one is recognised, is in the app ■ The evidence, shown • Every flag lists what matched, whether that was a manufacturer ID, a service UUID or an advertised name • Confidence is rated possible, likely or strong, and the app says which • You can disagree with it, because the reasoning is never hidden ■ Every device, logged • Sightings keeps a record of all Bluetooth devices heard nearby, glasses or not • A signal timeline for each device • Own a pair yourself? Mark them once and they stop raising alerts ■ On Apple Watch • Check around me scans from your wrist for fifteen seconds and shows the same evidence as the iPhone • Meeting mode, part of Pro, keeps scanning until you tap Stop and buzzes when a pair turns up • watchOS only lets the watch listen while ZuckOff is open on its screen. With Always On that includes time with your wrist down, and the Return to Clock setting can stretch it to an hour • With Pro, a watch face can show the last verdict from your iPhone ■ On your Mac • ZuckOff for Mac is on the Mac App Store, for macOS 15 or later. It listens from the menu bar or the Dock • Pro bought on your iPhone unlocks it on a Mac signed in with the same Apple Account ■ Shortcuts and Siri • Start scan, Stop scan, Get scan status and Get suspect count work in the Shortcuts app, in automations and with Siri • An automation can stop the scan when you get home, even with ZuckOff closed, and start it again when you leave • Starting a scan with ZuckOff closed needs Pro with background scanning on. Without Pro the action asks to open the app ■ How close, not which way • Signal strength gives a rough distance and no direction at all • ZuckOff shows proximity bands rather than an arrow, because an arrow would be invented ■ What it cannot do • Glasses advertise loudest while powering on, pairing, or leaving the case. Once paired to their owner's phone they can go quiet, so silence here does not mean nobody is recording • A detection does not mean anyone is recording either. ZuckOff sees that a device is nearby and nothing about what its owner is doing with it ■ Your data stays on your phone • No account, no analytics • The log never leaves unless you export it yourself, or choose to send a hardware report for a device ZuckOff does not recognise, so new glasses can be added later • A report shows you exactly what it contains before anything is sent • Your iPhone shares its last verdict with your paired Apple Watch and nothing else ■ ZuckOff Pro Scanning is free and always will be. Pro is for the times you are not looking at the screen: background monitoring, alerts, the Live Activity, the Home Screen widget, meeting mode and the watch face on Apple Watch, sighting history beyond 24 hours, and CSV export. $9.99 per year, with the first week free. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and renewals are managed in Settings on your device. A lifetime option is also available: one payment, no subscription, Family Sharing on. One purchase covers iPhone, Apple Watch and Mac. ZuckOff is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Meta Platforms, Luxottica, Ray-Ban, Oakley or Snap. Flock Camera is a map of the license plate readers watching America's roads — Flock Safety cameras and every other ALPR brand — with alerts that warn you before you drive past one. More than 137,000 cameras (over 127k across the US, plus growing coverage in Canada, the UK, Europe and Australia), crowdsourced by the community and mapped by OpenStreetMap contributors, built right into the app. No account, no cloud, no tracking: the entire camera database lives on your phone, and your location never leaves it. THE FLOCK CAMERA MAP • Every mapped plate reader on Earth, on one map — 127,000+ in the US alone • See what each camera sees: view cones show the direction a camera points, not just where it stands • Flock Safety cameras in red, every other brand in amber • Tap any camera for details: brand, operator, direction, mount, last verified • Area stats for wherever you're looking: totals, top brands, top operators • Standard, satellite and hybrid map styles PROXIMITY ALERTS • Get a notification as you approach a plate reader, before you pass it • Works in the background while you drive, phone in your pocket • Choose your warning distance, from 200 m to 1.5 km • A second alert tells you when you're inside a camera's field of view YOUR HISTORY • Every camera you've passed, logged automatically while alerts are on • "Likely captured" tells you when you were close enough — and in front of the lens — for a plate read • Street and town for each encounter, swipe to delete, everything stored only on your device PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The camera map and your history live entirely on your phone • Your location is compared against the map locally and is never transmitted • No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads • Delete the app and every trace is gone THE DATA Camera locations come from OpenStreetMap and the DeFlock mapping community — the same open dataset trusted by researchers and journalists covering ALPR surveillance. Camera data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Spot a camera that isn't mapped? Add it on OpenStreetMap and every app using the data improves. Whether you call them Flock cameras, ALPRs, or license plate readers — they see you. Now you can see them. Flock Camera is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Flock Safety, Inc. Camera positions and directions are community-mapped estimates; coverage varies by area and no warning is guaranteed. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at the confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store account settings after purchase. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Flock Camera at 4.6 against ZuckOff's 4.2. Flock Camera also leads on monetization model (free vs freemium). ZuckOff's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 11 days) and review sentiment (60% vs 50%). On price, ratings volume, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

CostPrice · In-app purchases · Ads · Monetization

Both are free to download. ZuckOff sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year and Flock Camera sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Flock Camera holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 8 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of ZuckOff's written reviews are positive against 50% of Flock Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

ZuckOff ships an update every 3 days, Flock Camera every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
