Image Resizer

"What pixel size does Instagram want?" "My email bounced because the photo was too big." Stop looking it up every time. Image Resizer cuts photo resizing down to two choices: pick a purpose, or set a target file size. There is no width and height to type in anywhere. You don't need to know DPI or aspect ratios. ◆ Just pick a purpose ・Instagram post (portrait or square), Instagram Story, email attachment, web upload, print ・Your photo is fitted to that purpose's dimensions with the aspect ratio preserved ・Photos that are already smaller are left alone — never upscaled ◆ Or just set a file size ・"Keep it under 2MB" — pick a target and quality is tuned automatically to hit it ・One tap for 500KB / 1MB / 2MB / 5MB, or enter your own ・Perfect for attachment limits and upload caps ◆ Many photos, same two taps ・Select several photos and they're all processed together. No separate batch mode to learn ・Every result is listed with its own size reduction, so you can see exactly what happened ◆ See before and after, then save ・Compare the original and the result side by side after processing ・Save to your photo library or hand off through the share sheet ◆ 100% on-device ・Loading, resizing, compressing and saving all happen on your iPhone ・Your photos are never uploaded to a server ・No account required. Works in airplane mode ◆ Made for moments like ・Your post got cropped or looked blurry after uploading ・A marketplace listing rejected your photo for being too large ・A form or email told you "2MB maximum" ・You need to lighten a whole batch of photos at once 【About Premium】 The app is free to use and none of the resizing features are limited. The free version shows ads. Premium — an auto-renewing monthly subscription — removes all ads from the app. ・Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase ・The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period ・Manage or cancel in your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions Privacy Policy: https://hecuhecu.github.io/apps/image-resizer/privacy/ Terms of Use: https://hecuhecu.github.io/apps/image-resizer/terms/
Slimsend

Slimsend makes a video smaller. You pick how small; it works out the rest. Pick a video, then a compression level — High quality, Balanced, Small or Smallest. Each one shows the size it will make before you start. Need it under a limit instead? Pick email, Discord, WhatsApp, or a size you type in, and Slimsend solves for the resolution and bitrate that land under that ceiling. There is no resolution dropdown to guess at. That guess is the app's job, not yours. MEGABYTES THE WAY THE LIMIT MEANS THEM A 25 MB email limit means 25,000,000 bytes. Aim at 26,214,400 instead — which is what "25 MB" means to a lot of software — and the file goes over and the send fails. Slimsend works in decimal bytes from end to end. Under the limit means under the limit. IT TELLS YOU BEFORE, NOT AFTER A ten-minute video inside a 25 MB email is 360p. That is arithmetic, not a bug, and no app can talk its way out of it. Most warn you and carry on, and you find out when you watch it back. Slimsend says so first — and offers the alternative: trim to a length that fits at a higher resolution, or carry on at 360p. Your call, made before the encode instead of discovered after it. IT REFUSES WHEN IT SHOULD • Already under the limit — there is nothing to gain, so it says so instead of re-encoding your video for no reason • So close to the limit that re-encoding would cost quality and could make the file larger • Impossible — when the limit is below the smallest this video can become, it tells you that size before compressing, not after YOUR ORIGINAL IS NEVER TOUCHED The compressed copy is saved separately, to its own album, with the creation date and location intact. The original stays exactly as it was. EVERYTHING HAPPENS ON YOUR IPHONE No account. No upload. No server. No ads — not before the compress, not after it, not anywhere in the app. Nothing to close and nothing to wait for. Free.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Slimsend at none against Image Resizer's 2. Slimsend also leads on ads (none vs shown). Image Resizer's advantage is device support (3 vs 1). On price, update cadence and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
