Explore echocardiography on iPhone and iPad with EchoSuite. Learn probe position and orientation on a 3D mannequin, compare simulated views with reference clips, and study acquisition and measurement techniques through interactive lessons. Explore 70 educational calculators with formulas, units, acquisition guidance and source references. Browse measurement references, save favorite tools and keep track of lesson progress on your device. EchoSuite is for education and content review, not diagnosis or patient-care decisions. Method limits and source information are available in the app. Requires iOS/iPadOS 26.0 or later. No account or external hardware is required. MeTEE
Read full descriptionHide full description
MeTEE is a hands-on simulator for learning transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Instead of memorising probe manipulations from a diagram, you hold your iPhone like the probe handle and move it: the simulated ultrasound image and a 3D heart model respond as your virtual probe travels through the esophagus behind the heart. Built for medical students, residents, anesthesiology and cardiology fellows, and sonographers who want spatial intuition for how probe depth, multiplane angle and tip flexion map onto the standard TEE views. THE PHONE IS THE PROBE • Twist the phone in its own plane to sweep the multiplane angle from 0° to 180° • Tip it toward or away from you to anteflex and retroflex the tip • Roll it about its long axis to flex left and right • Drag the depth ladder to advance and withdraw through the upper esophageal, mid-esophageal, transgastric and deep transgastric windows • No gyroscope handy? Manual control turns the dial and flex pad into sliders SEE WHAT THE BEAM SEES • A live cross-section of a 3D anatomical model, cut at exactly the plane your virtual probe would image • Structure labels on the image • Switch between ultrasound, 3D, or both together • Cut the heart open along the imaging plane to look inside the chambers LEARN THE STANDARD VIEWS • All 28 views of the ASE/SCA comprehensive TEE examination, including the 11-view basic perioperative exam • MeTEE names the view you are on as you move • Guide me: pick any view and get live steering for depth, angle and flexion until you are on it • Guided exams: walk through the basic or comprehensive exam one view at a time TEST YOURSELF • Stepwise Formal TEE: you are asked for a view, position the probe, and commit before seeing the answer • Scores, streaks and per-view averages, kept privately on your device MADE TO FIT YOUR HAND • Reset Grip re-centres the probe on however you are holding the phone • Lock or invert any axis, and tune sensitivity and smoothing PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no ads, no analytics and no network connections. Everything stays on your device. GOOD TO KNOW MeTEE is a spatial-navigation trainer, not an ultrasound physics simulator. Images are simplified cross-sections of one generic, static adult anatomical model, not real patient studies. There is no speckle, shadowing or Doppler, the heart does not beat, and the aortic valve itself is not yet modelled. MeTEE is for education only. It is not a medical device and must not be used for diagnosis, treatment or any clinical decision. It does not replace supervised training. Motion control needs an iPhone with a gyroscope; Manual control works without one. CREDITS 3D anatomy adapted from BodyParts3D, © The Database Center for Life Science, licensed under CC BY-SA 2.1 Japan. The standard-view catalog follows the ASE/SCA guidelines (Hahn et al., 2013; Reeves et al., 2013).
