Most weather apps pick a forecaster and hope. SkyPanda asks five of them the same question, grades their answers against what the sky actually did near you, and learns the mix that beats any of them on its own. A model that knows your mountains beats one that knows the world. IT GRADES ITS OWN HOMEWORK Every provider is scored on a 25 km grid against what really happened, with old evidence fading as models get retrained. Rain forecasts are graded so that being confidently wrong costs far more than hedging, which is the only way to stop a forecaster buying a reputation with vague answers. Nobody is ever silenced completely, because a panel of one is just a forecast with extra steps. THE BLEND IS THE PRODUCT The weights are learned per place and per reading, so the service that nails your temperature is not automatically trusted with your wind. Nothing is hardcoded and nothing is permanent: a provider that improves earns its way back up, and one that drifts is quietly outvoted. There is an accuracy score behind all of it, and yes, it grades SkyPanda too. YOUR PERSONAL METEOROLOGIST Ask Panda in plain words: is the game on tonight, what to wear tomorrow, where to fly next week for 70 degrees and no rain. Panda pulls forecasts for any place on Earth from every source SkyPanda blends and answers with the numbers, how sure it is, and a clear call. One question a day free, unlimited with Premium. RAIN RADAR THAT LOOKS A LITTLE FURTHER AHEAD The loop is measured rather than guessed. The flow is tracked block by block, so a front can pivot and a squall line can shear, and growth and decay are followed along the track rather than watched from a fixed patch of ground. It never invents rain the radar cannot see, and it tells you how far ahead it is willing to go, which is a shorter distance than most apps will admit to. WARNINGS SIZED TO WHAT IS HAPPENING Lightning by how close it strikes, rain and snow by how soon they start, air quality by the number on the index. Each with its own threshold, so you are interrupted for the things you actually care about and left alone for the rest. A warning from an official forecaster always gets through. A BRIEFING, MORNING AND EVENING For where you are and up to three places you care about, each on whichever clock you choose: yours, or theirs. Grant calendar access and it reads your day and mentions the plans the weather is about to ruin, which is more warning than the weather usually gives. YOUR OWN YARD, IF YOU HAVE ONE Connect a WeatherFlow Tempest and it beats every model out there for the ground it stands on. Readings count within about a mile and fade out beyond it, because a backyard sensor is unbeatable at what is happening now and no help at all with Thursday. Your access token stays on your phone. NINE WIDGETS AND A SCREEN FOR THE CAR Every widget family has at least three to choose between, because the reason someone puts a weather widget on a home screen varies enormously. One person wants the temperature, the next wants to know whether to bike, and a third only ever wants to be told there is nothing to worry about. DESIGNED, NOT ASSEMBLED Flat paper, ink hairlines and a warm 70s print idiom, in six themes, with a high contrast mode that keeps each theme's color and takes back its softness. The free version carries one ad, in a card built to look like the rest of the app. SkyPanda asks for non-personalized advertising only, so there is no tracking prompt and no advertising identifier. Premium takes it away. Nothing about you is sold. SkyPanda Premium is $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year, each starting with one week free. A subscription renews automatically unless it is canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and can be managed or canceled in Settings on your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID on confirmation. Terms of Use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Privacy Policy: https://skypanda.app/privacy

Whimsy Weather draws the weather instead of tabulating it. The top half of the screen is a hand-drawn landscape under a real sky: the Sun and the Moon are where they actually are, the Moon shows its true phase, and the rain, snow, cloud and wind in the picture are the ones in the forecast. The bottom half is the numbers. A SKY THAT IS ACTUALLY THE SKY Sunrise, sunset, twilight and the midnight sun are computed, not faked. At 64°N in June the sky never goes fully dark, because it doesn't. TWENTY-ONE LANDSCAPES, ALL OF THEM ALIVE Hills, farm, city, beach, harbour, open sea, mountains, desert, lake and the tropics — and every one has something in it that the wind moves. Smoke leans downwind, the windmill turns with the wind, palms bend and coconuts fall above 60 km/h. SIX PLACES THAT READ THE WEATHER Taipei 101 shows the cloud base by the floor that disappears into it. Fuji puts the freezing level on a cone of known height, and the Golden Gate's 1,280 m span is a ruler for visibility. The Eiffel Tower's fountains lean in the wind, Liberty stands in water that turns to pack ice, and the Pyramids cast the Sun's bearing across the sand. THE VIEW FROM A WINDOW A plane, high-speed rail, a car, a train and a bus. Rain on the glass is a speedometer: straight down at a red light, flat at 300 km/h. A WORLD CLOCK WITH LANDMARKS Every saved city on one 24-hour dial, ringed by landmarks that turn with the time and light their windows at night, with each city's weather drawn over its own. Turn the dial to find an hour that works everywhere. WARNINGS, AND HONESTY ABOUT WHERE THEY CAME FROM Where a national weather service publishes warnings the app reads them and names the issuer — the US National Weather Service, or MeteoAlarm for Europe. Everywhere else its own advisories are derived from the forecast, and say so. SEVEN WIDGETS ON THE HOME SCREEN Tonight's sky with the true Moon, today's conditions, the five-day outlook, what to wear — and the scene itself. YOURS, IN YOUR UNITS Every unit switches on its own, or follows your region. English, Français, 繁體中文, 简体中文 and 日本語. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No analytics. No advertising. The forecast comes from MET Norway, or with Pro from Apple's own WeatherKit, and searching for a place goes through Apple's frameworks — so the only thing that leaves your phone is where you want the weather for. FREE, SOURCES AND PRO Free keeps one saved place plus wherever you are, with the full conditions panel, the hourly and five-day forecasts, and warnings and advisories; its forecast comes from MET Norway. Pro adds Apple Weather, with next-hour rain where Apple has radar, unlimited places, the seven widgets, the other twenty landscapes, the world clock and the timeline to scrub hour by hour. Subscribe, or buy it once and keep it. Sources is a one-time purchase with everything in Pro except Apple Weather: MET Norway out of the box, or OpenWeatherMap, WeatherAPI.com, Pirate Weather and others with your own free API key. NOT A WARNING SERVICE This is a weather app for looking at, not a safety system. For decisions that matter, follow your national weather service. SUBSCRIPTION TERMS Whimsy Weather Pro (Monthly) is US$2 per month and Whimsy Weather Pro (Yearly) is US$18 per year; both renew automatically.
