Photo Vault
Read full descriptionHide full description
Photo Vault is a private photo library for your iPhone. It looks and works like the photos app you already know, but every photo and video inside it is encrypted on your device with a key only you hold. No account. No cloud. No tracking. Your photos never leave your phone. A PHOTOS APP, NOT A FILE LOCKER • Browse your library in a fast grid, with folders, albums and favourites • Full screen viewer with pinch to zoom, and smooth video playback • Sort by date taken or by date added, and filter photos or videos • Albums point to your photos instead of copying them, so nothing is stored twice • Import straight from Photos or the Files app, then optionally remove the originals from your camera roll ENCRYPTED, FOR REAL • Every file is encrypted with AES-GCM before it touches storage • Videos stream and decrypt in memory as you watch; a decrypted copy is never written to disk • Your PIN is stretched with PBKDF2 and combined with a secret kept in the iPhone's keychain • Open it with Face ID for speed; your PIN always works too A SECOND VAULT Set a second PIN to open a completely separate vault with its own photos. The second vault shows no trace of the first. PRIVACY BY DESIGN • No sign up, no servers, no analytics, no ads • Blurred in the app switcher by default, so your photos never show when you switch apps • Optional: lock when a screenshot is taken, lock after a set time in the background, and erase everything after too many wrong PINs TIDY UP Find duplicate photos and videos across all your folders and albums, see which copy is kept, and clear the rest. Photo Vault always asks before deleting anything. SAVE FROM THE WEB A built in browser lets you save images from websites straight into a vault folder, without them ever touching your camera roll. GOOD TO KNOW Because your vault never leaves your phone, it is not included in iCloud or computer backups. If you lose your iPhone or delete the app, the photos in your vault go with it. Export anything you want to keep elsewhere with Save to Photos.
