GingR

50 kg on a thin cable is not 50 kg on a thick one. Most training apps only know the name of the exercise. GingR knows the equipment. THE BAR COUNTS You enter what is on the plates. GingR knows which bar your gym keeps and adds it ā Olympic, women's, EZ, trap, or one you defined yourself. THIN AND THICK ARE NOT THE SAME Cable towers are kept apart by their resistance. Bands are an order, not an invented kilo figure: progress is the lighter band. MACHINES REMEMBER THEIR SETTINGS Seat height, foot position, grip, pulley height, attachment. Next time it is already filled in. LEFT AND RIGHT, LOGGED APART Switch it on per exercise. Each side keeps its own records, and the analysis tells you when one side falls behind. ASSISTED MACHINES COUNT DOWN Less assistance is more work. GingR takes your body weight minus the assistance and celebrates the record in the direction it actually runs. EVERY VARIANT KEEPS ITS OWN HISTORY Charts, records and history belong to the variant, not to the exercise name. Nothing gets averaged together that was never the same lift. ALSO IN THE BOX - 500 exercises in the catalogue, plus the ones you add - Routines, supersets, a rest timer with sound - Records, trophies and a rank per muscle group - Body weight, measurements and photos; the photos stay on the phone - Weekly volume, a muscle heatmap, estimated 1RM - CSV import from Hevy and Strong - CSV and JSON export, whenever you want - A home screen widget for your week and your streak - Apple Health: workouts out, body weight in, if you want it FRIENDS, AND ONLY YOURS A friendship starts with an invite code and no other way. No strangers, no discover tab, no suggestions. You see the workouts of the people you invited, you can comment, send a routine, and set a weekly goal together. What you share is your decision ā and switching sharing off deletes the copy on the server instead of hiding it. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED The app runs offline and without signing in. An account is for sync and for friends. Sign in later and your whole history comes with you. No ads, no usage tracking. English and German.

DCFT is the workout planner and personal coach for dual cable machines, also known as functional trainers or cable crossover stations. It turns your home gym into a complete strength training program. Two cable towers or just one: DCFT plans with what you have. BUILT AROUND YOUR EQUIPMENT Tell DCFT what you have: number of plates, plate weight, cable ratio (for example 2:1), bench, single handles, long bar, rope, ankle cuffs or a pull-up assist band. Every plan uses exactly that, and the app shows you which plate to set the pin at for every set. No math at the machine. Works in kg and lb. FITNESS CHECK FOR YOUR STARTING WEIGHTS A short test per movement pattern (push, pull, legs, core) works out your starting weights, so your very first cable workout already feels right. A PLAN FOR EVERY GOAL ⢠Build muscle ⢠Get stronger ⢠Get fitter and lose weight ⢠Stay healthy and mobile at 50, 60 or 70+ Pick your training days and session length, from a 20 minute workout to a full session. Beginners start with two simple full body workouts. COACHING DURING THE WORKOUT ⢠Warm-up sets, rest timer and supersets ⢠Progressive overload: the weight goes up when you are ready ⢠Deload weeks, plateau help and a daily readiness check ⢠Swap an exercise or tell the app that something hurts ⢠Clear setup line: pulley height, attachment and pin position 246 EXERCISES, PLUS 10 FOR WARM-UP AND STRETCHING Chest press, cable row, lat pulldown, face pull, cable fly, squat, Romanian deadlift, Pallof press, woodchop and many more, each with an animated figure and coaching tips. Cable exercises always come first. Missing one? Add it as a custom exercise. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Week view, streaks, personal records, weekly volume per muscle group and a skill path from assisted pull-ups to the muscle-up. DCFT PRO (ONE-TIME PURCHASE, NO SUBSCRIPTION) Detailed statistics, exercise notes, Apple Watch app, Live Activity and Apple Health. Try Pro free for 14 days. Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: GingR at none against DCFT's 2. GingR also leads on iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). DCFT's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.
