Keeping track of a homestead, a van build, an RV, or a tiny home usually means a mix of notebooks, phone photos, and spreadsheets that don't talk to each other. HomePlot puts it all in one place, and it works with no signal, because a lot of life off-grid or on the road happens with no signal. Set up your household once: Homestead, Van or Skoolie, RV or Motorhome, or Tiny Home, and HomePlot adapts to fit. RECORDS FOR EVERYTHING YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE FOR Keep a record for each animal, plant, vehicle, and piece of property, with photos, notes, and a timeline of what happened and when. OVER 40 SPECIALIZED LOGS Milking, firewood, rainwater, propane, generator, fuel, compost, greenhouse, mushroom, sap, forage, canning, seed swap, well level, water testing, water filter changes, predator sightings, trail cam, nesting box, fence inspection, cover crop, aquaponics, chemical and spray applications (with re-entry and pre-harvest interval safety built in), and a build journal for anything you're constructing. ON THE ROAD Boondocking spots, overnight parking, dump stations, tire pressure, low bridges, road hazards, cell signal, internet speed, and meetups, logged as you go. MONEY Track costs and income by category so the year actually adds up, whether that's feed and fuel or fencing and fabrication supplies. FAMILY A shared family board for tasks, chores, notes, and voice notes. Child profiles get a simplified screen of their own. SAFETY A wellness check-in works like a dead man's switch: miss a check-in and the people you've nominated are notified. It's built for anyone who lives alone or travels alone. Emergency numbers for 24 countries are stored offline, with your coordinates ready to read out or send. ALSO INCLUDED A recipe book and a detector test log for smoke and CO alarms. HomePlot works offline. Everything you enter with no signal is saved on your device and syncs when you're back in range. HomePlot is free to use. Paid tiers add photo albums, an offline map of your places with satellite imagery, weather and frost alerts, push notifications, breeding and herd health records, pasture rotation, equipment and loan tracking, profit and loss reporting, invoicing, and more, in plans sized to how big your operation is. All paid tiers are auto-renewing subscriptions billed monthly, every 6 months, or yearly. A year is 365 squares. Today fills one for every day you keep, and after a few months the whole of it reads in a single look โ the runs, the gaps, and the difference between a day you missed and a day nothing was due. A YEAR ON ONE SCREEN Every day of the year as one square, filled by the share of that day you actually did. Current streak, longest streak, clear days, days active, days missed. Then the same grid again for one task on its own, and again for a whole programme. TODAY, AND NOTHING ELSE The app opens on the day you are in and shows what is due, what is done, and what is late. No score, no badge, no daily grade โ a list you can finish, and then close. HABITS AT YOUR REAL PACE Every day. Three times a week. The first Monday of the month. Or three days after the last time you actually did it, counted from your last completion rather than from the calendar. A streak means something because the schedule is the real one. A MISSED DAY BREAKS NOTHING Push a task to tomorrow, or to a day you pick, and bring it back if you change your mind. Skip a day on purpose and it is recorded as skipped rather than missed. Nothing here punishes you for a Tuesday. THE HABITS YOU WANT TO STOP Track one in reverse. Log it each time it happens, set how many a day you allow yourself, and a day that ends inside the limit is a day held. Days held count up like any other streak. TIMED ROUTINES A session is a warm-up, the work, a stretch. Run it step by step with a clock on each โ and the clock, with its buttons, stays on the Lock Screen while the phone is in your pocket. WIDER THAN A DAY, OR SEVERAL TIMES INSIDE ONE Tidy the garage, some time this week: one thing to do rather than a Monday task you keep failing until Sunday. Or three walks in a day, counted towards a target, the third of them ticking the day off by itself. TEN KINDS OF READING A weight, a distance, a duration off the built-in stopwatch, a rating, a price, a note on how it went. Record more than one per task, and every one keeps its own history: latest, average, lowest, highest, and the line between them. REMINDERS THAT NEVER LEAVE THE DEVICE Set them once, days ahead if you like. They fire from your phone, because there is no server to fire them from. TWELVE READY-MADE PROGRAMMES, ALL FREE Whole weeks โ moving, the house, looking after an animal, the garden, winding down โ added in one go, with the parts you already do unticked before they exist. A programme stays a group afterwards: its own streak, its own grid, and one tap to retire the lot. MADE TO LOOK AT Monochrome by design: colour belongs to tasks and says which one, never how urgent. The six task colours stay distinguishable from one another under deuteranopia, protanopia and tritanopia. Five themes, each with its own day and its own night, and ten app icons. NO ACCOUNT. NO ADS. NO SUBSCRIPTION. There is no server to send anything to. Your tasks, your history and your settings live in a database on your device and nowhere else. A day is only written down when you act on it, so a task you ignore costs nothing and leaves no trace. Export the whole of it as one JSON file you can read, and import it back on another phone. English and French, following your device. The app is free, and so is everything you need to use it: every kind of task, every reading, the statistics, the twelve programmes it ships with, and one programme of your own. Optional one-time purchases unlock the extra colour themes and every programme of your own after the first. They are not subscriptions: you pay once and keep the feature.

Verdict
HomePlot and Today are too close to call on the numbers: across 5 compared parameters โ price, ads, in-app purchases and device support among them โ neither pulls far enough ahead to decide it. What separates them is feature set and interface, not measurable difference.
Scored on Price ยท Rating ยท Positive reviews ยท Number of ratings ยท Update frequency ยท Ads ยท In-app purchases ยท Monetization ยท Best chart rank ยท Devices ยท Requires iOS
Both are free to download. HomePlot sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Today sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
