Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: been at 4.7 against UNC's 2.3. been also leads on ratings volume (10K vs 3) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). UNC's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 59%) and in-app purchases (none vs 4). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. been sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. UNC asks for nothing beyond the download.
been holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: been has 10K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 59% of been's written reviews are positive against 100% of UNC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
been ships an update every 10 days, UNC every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
