California DMV permit test prep for 2027: pass the driver's license knowledge test the first time. 962 DMV exam-style practice questions, a DMV exam simulator in the real format, every road sign, and the official California Driver's Handbook — for the Class C written test, the teen permit test and the motorcycle (Class M) knowledge test. California only, not all 50 states: California's handbook, California road signs, California law. Every question is also in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Russian, Arabic, Persian, Armenian, Punjabi and Tagalog, with the English beside it. No ads, no tracking, no account. BUILT FOR CALIFORNIA • The real exam format: 36 questions with 6 mistakes allowed at 18 or older, 46 with 8 allowed under 18. • 962 DMV exam-style questions: speed limits, right-of-way, freeway driving, signals and signs, lane markings, parking, alcohol and drugs, sharing the road, and licensing duties. • A separate question set for the Motorcycle (Class M) test. • Updated for the laws that took effect January 1, 2026, including the expanded "Slow Down, Move Over" rule. ELEVEN LANGUAGES, SIDE BY SIDE English · Español · 中文 · Tiếng Việt · 한국어 · Русский · العربية · فارسی · Armenian · Punjabi · Tagalog Every question, answer and explanation is translated. Tap any question to see the English underneath, the fastest way to learn the exact words the examiner uses. A GUIDED PATH, NOT AN ENDLESS LIST • 71 lessons of 10 questions each, in six steps, from Traffic Control to the Laws and Rules of the Road. • A lesson is not finished until every question is right. What you miss comes straight back before you move on. • The Permit Test Simulator waits at the end of the path: the real DMV format, with your remaining mistakes in view as you go. • ChallengeBank™ gathers every question you missed, and every one you saved, into a single review set. • Spaced repetition brings a question back before you forget it, instead of counting one lucky guess as mastery. THE HANDBOOK, NOT JUST A PDF The California Driver's Handbook as real text and diagrams: searchable, resizable, readable with VoiceOver, available offline. Get an answer wrong and the app links you to the exact section that explains it. AN AI TUTOR THAT NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE Ask for a second explanation, in English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese or Korean, on an iPhone with Apple Intelligence. It runs entirely on your device: free, working with no signal, and sending nothing anywhere. ROAD SIGNS AND THE DRIVING TEST 41 official road signs with meanings in your language, and sign-recognition questions that use the real artwork. Plus what actually happens at the behind-the-wheel test: the 17-item pre-drive check and the errors that end the test on the spot. KEEP THE HABIT A daily goal and a streak, a Home Screen widget you can answer a question on without opening the app, Siri shortcuts, and progress that follows you across iPhone and iPad through iCloud. PRIVATE AND OFFLINE No account, no ads, no tracking. Nothing leaves your phone. Everything except the official DMV links works with no connection at all. DISCLAIMER: This is an unofficial, independent study app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or any government agency, and it does not replace any official DMV application. Every question is our own, written from the California Vehicle Code and the Driver's Handbook. No actual DMV exam questions are used. Road sign artwork is from the FHWA MUTCD (public domain). The official California Driver's Handbook is free at dmv.ca.gov. The first six lessons of the Learn path are free, as are the handbook and every road sign; on the Motorcycle test the first six practice tests are free; a Full Access subscription (weekly, monthly or 6-month, auto-renewing) unlocks the remaining Class C tests, the exam simulator and the study tools. Permit Ready

Permit Ready helps adults prepare for the driver's license knowledge test in California and in Florida: the written test for a first license, also called the permit test. You choose your state, and every question is shown in English with a translation underneath, so you learn each rule together with the English words used on road signs and in the test. Two states, each with its own questions • California: 450 practice questions, translated into Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Vietnamese and Filipino (Tagalog). Mock exams under the adult test rules: 36 questions, 30 correct to pass • Florida: 452 practice questions, translated into Spanish, Haitian Creole and Portuguese. Mock exams under the Class E test rules: 50 questions, 40 correct to pass, in 60 minutes. Florida gives its test in English only, so the English always comes first What you get • Questions written for this app, each with a plain explanation and the section of the state's law or the handbook topic it is based on • The road signs and vehicle markings of your state (California 82, Florida 77), drawn to the standard designs: you write what a sign means, and the app checks • Spaced review that brings back the questions you are about to forget • Your mistake patterns: the rule you keep applying wrong, not only a score • A readiness estimate that updates after each study session • Listening mode: questions, options and explanations read aloud with your phone's own voices • A 10-question check that shows where you stand before you start Who it is for Adults in California or Florida getting a first driver's license, especially if English is not their first language. Filipino speakers can use it as a DMV reviewer with Tagalog underneath. How it works Start with the 10-question check at no cost and see your whole result. The first 25 questions, one mock exam and 20 road signs are included at no cost. One payment unlocks everything, for both states. There is no subscription, no advertising and no account. The app works offline, and your answers stay on your phone. Sources The questions are original. Their facts come from these public sources: • California Driver's Handbook, California DMV: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/handbook/california-driver-handbook/ • Knowledge test and permit rules, California DMV: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/driver-licenses-identification-cards/instruction-permits/ • California Vehicle Code, California Legislature: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/codesTOCSelected.xhtml?tocCode=VEH • Official Florida Driver License Handbook, Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles: https://www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/handbooks/englishdriverhandbook.pdf • Florida Statutes, Florida Legislature: https://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/ • Road sign designs, Federal Highway Administration (MUTCD): https://mutcd.fhwa.dot.gov/ The exam figures were checked against each state's own publications.
