As Told

Write it. Say it. Keep it. As Told is a quiet, private writing space for anything you want to put into words. Capture a passing thought. Write a note. Work through an idea. Draft something longer. Make a plan. Build a list. Or tap the microphone and simply say what's on your mind. Typing and speaking belong on the same page, so you never have to decide what kind of note you're creating first. WRITE NATURALLY A clean page, a title if you want one, and a small writing toolbar just above the keyboard. No block picker, no formatting ribbon, no setup. Give a thought as much structure as it needs and no more. SAY IT INSTEAD The microphone sits beside the new-note button on Home. Tap it and As Told is already listening β there is no note to create first. Pause when you need a moment and pick the same recording back up. When your words come back, they become an ordinary note like any other: no separate voice inbox, no transcript screen to visit. Speaking inside a note works the same way, and the words land at your cursor. MAKE IT WHATEVER YOU NEED Headings and subheadings. Bulleted and numbered lists. Checklists you tick in place β a circle beside each line. Paste a plan, a table or a block of code and it arrives with its shape intact: tables stay tables, links stay tappable, code stays code, monospaced and syntax-coloured with Copy Code one tap away. FIND IT AGAIN Home keeps the recent days in view β Today, then the previous seven β with a short preview under every note. Search when you remember a word. Open the calendar when you remember the day: dots show how much you wrote on each one, and tapping a day lists its notes right under the month. SPEAK THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY SPEAK As Told doesn't ask you to choose a language before you talk. Speak in one, or move between two in the same sentence β the transcript comes back in the languages you used, in the scripts you used, rather than translated into one. Voice transcription is tested most closely with English, Telugu, Hindi, and speech that moves between them. Your words are transcribed as you said them. Punctuation, capitalisation and paragraph breaks are added so a spoken thought reads like written language β and that is all. Nothing is summarised, rewritten, polished or translated. YOUR WORDS SHOULDN'T DISAPPEAR If a recording can't be transcribed β no signal, a connection that dropped β it is kept on your iPhone so you can try again. Nothing you said is thrown away because the network wasn't there. SHARE WHEN YOU NEED TO Tap Share and iOS takes over. A note goes to whichever apps and services are already on your iPhone, with its formatting where the destination can take it and plain text everywhere else. As Told creates no link and keeps no record of what you sent. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, ever. Your notes live on your iPhone. A recording leaves the device only when you choose to transcribe it, only after you agree the first time, and nothing else from the note goes with it. No ads, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. Lock the app with Face ID if you like β it is off unless you turn it on. Whatever you want to put into words β write it, say it, keep it.
KeySpeech

KeySpeech is a voice-typing keyboard for iPhone and a recorder that turns long meetings into transcripts by speaker. TWO KEYBOARDS β’ Voice keyboard: one big Record key. Tap, talk, tap again, and the text goes into the app you're typing in. β’ Full keyboard: letters like the iPhone's own, with a dictation bar above. English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and Polish layouts, accents, emoji search, and a space-bar trackpad that moves the cursor left and right. No autocorrect, suggestions or swipe typing. β’ On both, chips switch the template, AI provider and model. β’ With the Apple engine or KeySpeech Engine, words appear as you speak; Whisper and OpenAI show them after you stop. β’ Microphone standby (5 min to 2 hours, with a pause) starts dictation instantly; nothing is recorded until you tap Record. β’ Not in password fields or apps that block third-party keyboards. TEMPLATES A template tells the AI what to do with your words: fix punctuation, cut filler words, shorten, change the tone, translate to English or Russian, reply to an email, or follow your own prompt. Each has its own provider and model. Without AI, you get the engine's text as is. MEETINGS AND LECTURES β’ Record up to 4 hours per note with the screen locked and stop from the Lock Screen, or import audio and video files from Files. A call or Siri only pauses the recording. β’ Speakers are separated on your iPhone; listen to each voice and pick who it is. KeySpeech can remember voices (on this iPhone only) and suggest who's speaking next time; you confirm. Short remarks can get mixed up. β’ The player's waveform is colored by speaker; tap any line of the transcript to hear it. β’ Redo a note: recognize it again with another engine or language, separate the speakers again (on your iPhone or through OpenAI), or process it with another template. SUMMARIES AND EXPORT 12 summary templates (Meeting summary, Action items, Formal minutes, Lecture notesβ¦), each with its own AI, or your own request, in the recording's language. Tap a time like [12:40] to hear that moment. Export transcripts with names and timestamps as TXT, Markdown, SRT, WebVTT, RTF, PDF or Word, plus summaries, a full report and the audio. ALSO INSIDE β’ Dashboard: time saved vs. typing, speaking pace, the apps you dictate in, your busiest hours. β’ History: every dictation by day, with its app and the raw text. β’ Dictionary: names, brands and terms spelled your way. SPEECH ENGINES β’ Apple: built in, no download. Your iPhone's language or another one Apple supports; on-device when iOS can, otherwise on Apple's servers. β’ KeySpeech Engine: offline after a ~483 MB download. 25 European languages, detected automatically. β’ Whisper: offline after a ~646 MB download. About 99 languages, including Chinese; best when you mix languages. β’ OpenAI: your own API key; audio is uploaded to OpenAI. Each engine keeps its own language. English works with all four. The models are optional downloads. AI PROVIDERS (OPTIONAL) Off until you add your own OpenAI, Google Gemini or Anthropic key, or an OpenAI-compatible server, even one on your computer. On an iPhone with 12 GB of memory, notes and summaries can also run on a model on the iPhone (optional 3 GB download). PRIVACY No account, no KeySpeech servers, no analytics, ads or tracking. History, notes and recordings stay on your iPhone; audio or text leaves it only for services you choose, straight to that provider. KeySpeech asks before a summary first sends a transcript to the cloud and before a redo first uploads a recording. Full Access only lets the keyboard talk to the KeySpeech app, which records for it, since iOS doesn't let keyboards use the microphone. What you type is never stored or sent. Ask everyone before you record them. KeySpeech itself is free, with no in-app purchases and no subscription. Cloud providers you connect bill you directly. Requires an iPhone with iOS 17 or later. The app's interface is in English and Russian.

The clearest difference is iOS requirement: KeySpeech at 17.0 against As Told's 26.0. On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
