.html is an HTML document viewer. It is not an editor: no code writing, no console, no syntax highlighting. It stores the HTML files you already have, keeps them organized, and opens them when you need them. AI generates more HTML files than ever: reports, calculators, dashboards, interactive summaries. They come out of a chat, get opened once in a browser, and disappear among tabs and downloads. .html is the tool for handling them. WHAT IT DOES β’ Saves every HTML inside the app β its own copy, which opens offline. β’ Shows it full screen, with no address bar and no tabs. β’ Runs the document as it is: its scripts, styles and buttons all work. β’ Organizes files into folders, with pinned documents on top and sorting by date, name, or your own order by dragging. β’ Groups them by date automatically: today, yesterday, last 7 days, last 30 days. β’ Searches by title. MEMORY A document opened in Safari starts from scratch every time. Not here: whatever the document saves stays saved. Tick a checkbox in a list, fill in a form, switch a tab in a dashboard β close the app, come back days later, and it is exactly as you left it. Each document keeps its own state, and none can read another's. PRIVACY No account, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics. The app never connects to a server: your documents never leave your iPhone. ADDING DOCUMENTS Through the + button, which opens the Files app and shows only HTML files. Also via Β«Open withΒ» from Files or Safari.

Quick Look shows many HTML files as a blank or broken page. HTMLens opens them much as a desktop browser would β password-protected statements, pages that need JavaScript, web archives, and documents in legacy encodings β right on your iPhone and iPad. UNLOCK PROTECTED HTML β’ Type the password into the page and it opens, just like on a computer β’ Save passwords in the keychain behind Face ID and fill them in with one tap β’ Request Desktop Site for documents that refuse to open on mobile β’ Pop-up windows and print buttons work as the page expects MANY HTML FORMATS β’ Runs the page's JavaScript with WebKit, the engine behind Safari β’ HTML, XHTML, SVG, Safari web archives, and MHT/MHTML from Chrome, Edge, and Word β’ Detects legacy encodings such as EUC-KR and Shift_JIS, with a manual override β’ Loads images and styles from the file's folder PDF, PRINT, AND SHARE β’ Save as A4 pages or as one long page, or print β’ Make a PDF that hides the card, account, phone, and ID numbers and email addresses it finds in the page text, then checks the page text again and won't share if a number is left β’ Text inside images isn't checked, so review the whole PDF before sharing STATEMENT VAULT β’ Keep unlocked statements and reopen them without the password β’ Locked with Face ID, encrypted, and stored only on this device β’ For Korean billing statements it recognizes, shows the amount due and due date and opens a prefilled calendar event COMFORTABLE READING β’ Dark mode for documents, plus an app theme setting β’ Find in page and adjustable text size β’ Recent documents and favorites β’ iPad split view and drag and drop PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, and HTMLens doesn't send your documents or passwords to any server. Vault statements open with internet access turned off. REMOVE ADS Remove the banner ad for good with a one-time purchase. Support: ggamistudio@gmail.com

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: .html at none against HTMLens's 1. .html also leads on ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
