You will not learn to write Japanese here. You will learn to understand it when someone says it, and to say it yourself. That is a decision, not a gap. Learning to read and draw a foreign script costs months that bring you no closer to a conversation. Ether Echo removes that step and spends every available minute on the only two things that produce speech: your ear and your mouth. THE METHOD Every word you meet becomes a card, and every card comes back at the moment you were about to forget it. That is spaced repetition, computed by FSRS, the algorithm that models your forgetting curve instead of following a fixed schedule. You review less and retain more, because nothing comes back too early. But the cards are not word lists. Every word arrives inside a sentence you hear, spoken by a voice, in context. You do not memorise "dog = 犬". You hear a sentence about a dog, and you understand it. WHAT A SESSION LOOKS LIKE - Hear a sentence, choose what it means. - Hear it with no text at all, once the word is anchored enough to drop the crutch. - Read a sentence in your own language, find how it is said in the other. - Say it out loud, and speech recognition tells you whether you were understood. None of it asks you to draw a character. THE VOICE TUTOR Once you have enough words, you talk to a tutor that answers out loud, live, in the language you are learning. It stays inside what you already know: it will not use words you have never met. This is where vocabulary turns into speech. SCRIPTS THAT ARE NOT LATIN Japanese appears in rōmaji, Mandarin in pinyin with its tones, Russian in accented transliteration, because Russian stress is never written down and changes what a word means. You always read something you can pronounce. LANGUAGES English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian. The interface speaks all seven, and you pick the one things are explained in. PLACEMENT A short assessment finds where you already are. You do not start at "hello" if you are past it. SUBSCRIPTION The app, the courses, the spaced repetition and every exercise are included. The subscription pays for live conversation minutes with the voice tutor: 50, 150, 300 or 600 per month depending on the tier, billed monthly or yearly. Thirty trial minutes when you sign up, no card required. TERMS OF USE Auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly. It renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, and it is managed from your App Store account settings. Build a daily nursing study habit with short NCLEX-RN practice. Answer questions, review explanations, and return to what needs practice. Study before scrolling with optional app blocking. Choose which apps wait, then finish your daily drill so they can unlock until your next study day. Keep blocking off whenever you want to use NurseLock for study only. The included questions and explanations follow your app language. Older saved questions and your own imported content can keep their original language. NurseLock Pro is required for daily drills and to turn on blocking. Start with a practice question, then choose a manageable daily maximum. Your first day can be shorter while your review history builds. A first name is optional and only personalizes your greeting. Answer multiple-choice questions or type what you remember, compare with the reference answer, and rate your recall. Open the question's references, revisit completed answers, save questions, and keep personal study notes. Choose your study-day start and blocking days in Settings. You can turn blocking off or remove all NurseLock restrictions from Help with blocking at any time. Removing NurseLock restrictions does not require an active purchase. No account is required. NurseLock Pro offers two App Store options: - Lifetime: a one-time purchase that never renews. - Weekly: an automatically renewing weekly subscription. Eligible customers can try the weekly subscription free for 7 days. It then renews at the weekly price shown before purchase until canceled. The app shows current prices in your App Store currency before purchase. Apple processes payment. Restore purchases from the paywall or Settings. Manage or cancel a weekly subscription in your Apple account subscription settings. Deleting NurseLock does not cancel a subscription. Study data is stored on your iPhone or iPad; device backups can contain it. There is no NurseLock cloud study sync, runtime AI, or in-app backup export/restore screen. Apple and RevenueCat process purchase information to manage access. The bundled questions are educational study practice, not clinical guidance or medical advice. NurseLock does not guarantee exam results. Requires an iPhone with iOS 26.5 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 26.5 or later. Before deleting the app, remove its restrictions through Settings > Help with blocking.
