Hinokoto Frequency Generator

Hinokoto Frequency Generator plays tones at any frequency from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Turn a circular dial to pick a pitch, then play sine waves, noise, binaural beats, chords, or harmonics, with tools for checking speakers and clearing water from them. Make a sound - Set the frequency with the dial, by typing it in, with the slider, or with the step buttons - Step by octave, by semitone, or by 0.01 Hz to 100 Hz. A fine mode turns the dial at 1/5 the usual speed - Set a frequency from a note name, octave, and cents, with an A4 reference pitch from 400 Hz to 480 Hz - Sine, square, triangle, and sawtooth waveforms - White, pink, brown, blue, violet, and gray noise - Twelve presets from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, including 440 Hz and 1,000 Hz - Change the frequency or waveform without stopping playback Sound modes - Binaural beats: set a 1 Hz to 30 Hz difference between left and right. Switch to monaural to mix both tones so they work on speakers too - Multi-tone: layer up to five tones into a chord, with chord presets covering 25 chord types and five tunings, including equal temperament and just intonation - Harmonics: add harmonics up to the 8th over a fundamental to shape the timbre - Isochronic tones: pulse the sound of any mode on and off at 1 Hz to 40 Hz Check and compare - Audibility check: plays representative frequencies in turn, with Standard, Speech, High-pitch, and Quick presets and a choice of both ears, left, or right (a simple check, not a medical test) - Frequency sweep: choose the start and end frequencies, a length of 1 to 60 seconds, a logarithmic or linear scale, and once, loop, or back-and-forth playback - Sound test: guided left/right, bass, and rattle-and-resonance checks - Tone sequence: arrange up to eight tone and silence steps, up to 60 seconds in total, and repeat them Speaker cleaner - Water eject (100 Hz to 1,000 Hz) and dust clean (300 Hz to 2,000 Hz) modes - Sweeps the sound up and down, then pulses it, to help push water droplets or dust out of the speaker (not a substitute for repair or drying the inside of the device) Handy extras - Named favorites you can edit, plus a history of the last 10 tones you played - Share your tone settings as a link - A timer from 30 seconds to 12 hours, with an optional fade-out before it ends - Background playback while you use other apps or lock the screen (can be turned off) - Play and stop from the lock screen or notification - An option to play along with music and other apps instead of pausing them - Haptic feedback as you turn the dial - WAV export from 3 seconds to 5 minutes, with seamless loops and support for sweeps and tone sequences. Exported audio may be used for commercial and non-commercial purposes, with no attribution required - Volume shown in percent and dB, plus left/right balance - Choose a background and color palette, and pick what the home screen shows Great for - Checking speakers, earphones, and headphones, including left and right channels - Finding how low your speakers go and what in the room rattles - Sounding a reference pitch or chord when tuning an instrument - Hearing how frequency, waveform, and harmonics change a sound - Playing noise in the background while you work - Trying out binaural beats and isochronic tones - Clearing water or dust from a phone speaker - Preparing test tones and sound material as WAV files Good to know - Banner ads appear at the bottom of the screen. - No account or sign-in is required. - Binaural beats need stereo headphones that keep the left and right channels separate. Presets and frequencies do not guarantee any effect. - For support, choose Contact Us from the in-app menu.
