Stop scrolling on autopilot. Pausely is a screen time app blocker that puts a short, calm pause between the tap and the feed. You didn't decide to open it. Your thumb did. Choose the apps that pull you in (social media, video, games) and the next time you reach for one, Pausely steps in first: a breath, a written reminder, a quiet moment to decide whether you actually want this one. You can always continue. Pausely never locks you out of your own phone. It simply returns the few seconds the habit skips, and most of the time that's all it takes. HOW IT WORKS • Pick the apps, categories or websites to protect, powered by Apple's Screen Time technology • Reaching for one brings up a calm pause instead: a breath to follow, a line worth reading, a moment to feel where you are • Continue if you mean it, or walk away. No guilt, no shaming either way • Or do the thing you said you'd rather do: "Or: read for 10 minutes" can open your book, your notes, your meditation app WATCH THE TIME COME BACK • Time reclaimed this week, counted in hours and minutes • Pauses, walk-aways and streaks, kept kindly and never held against you • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and a Live Activity while a short access window runs MADE FOR • Breaking the doomscrolling habit on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Reddit or any app you choose • Staying focused during work, study and sleep • A digital detox that doesn't mean giving up your phone PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything stays on your iPhone. No account. No ads. No tracking • Pausely never learns which apps you block. Apple's Screen Time keeps that on your device • Until you switch on the optional AI reflection, the app makes no network calls at all IN YOUR LANGUAGE English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Simplified Chinese. Pausely is not about quitting your phone. It's about the twenty opens a day you never actually chose. Verboten blocks the apps you choose. You pick them once, and they stop opening. Not a timer you can dismiss. Not a nag screen. iOS itself holds the door, through the same Screen Time machinery Apple uses for parental controls, so a blocked app meets a shield instead of a feed, and there is nothing to swipe past. WHAT IT DOES Pick your apps. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, whatever your evenings disappear into. One switch holds all of them. Block only when it matters. Add a window — evenings, work hours, overnight — and blocking applies then and not otherwise. A window can cover every app or a single one. With no window, it is simply always on. Two minutes, not the evening. Need an app right now? Take a couple of minutes. It shuts again by itself, and the setting returns to Never — so a moment of weakness never quietly becomes a permanent exception. Pause on your terms. Everything opens for as long as you chose, then blocking comes back on its own. No decision to remember. Something better to read. An optional bulletin of the day's AI news from real newsrooms — grouped so one story isn't repeated five times, and ten stories long. It ends, which is the whole point. Turn it off and the app fetches nothing at all. A line worth reading. Every block shows one: a fact, a thought, a reason to look away. WHAT IT DOESN'T DO No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no ads, no trackers. Nothing about you leaves your phone. Your blocked list, your schedules and your settings live on the device. On iOS the app cannot even read which apps you picked; Apple hands it opaque tokens, and that is all it ever sees. No guilt. Missing your own rules is not a failure state. There is no streak to break and no score to lose. Verboten is made by the ReadLoft team.
