LightUP is a strobe you can set exactly. Screen and camera torch flash together, from one slow beacon a second up to 30 flashes per second โ€” and you choose the rate, rather than picking from a handful of speeds. Everything runs on your phone. No account, no sign-up, nothing uploaded, no network at all. SET THE RATE, EXACTLY A big dial shows the flash rate in Hz and in flashes per minute. Drag it, nudge it in fine steps, or tap the tempo out and LightUP matches the beat. Flash width controls how long each flash stays lit โ€” short and sharp for a hard club strobe, wide and soft for a gentle pulse. Presets cover the usual jobs: a dance-floor pulse, a slow beacon for being seen, a fast blue police flash, an amber hazard blink, and a soft candle flicker. TACHOMETER: MEASURE HOW FAST SOMETHING SPINS Light a spinning fan, wheel, motor or drone propeller and raise the rate slowly. When the flash rate matches the rotation, the object appears to stand still. LightUP converts that into RPM, and lets you set the blade count so a three-blade fan is not reported at three times its real speed. It also shows the harmonics โ€” the whole multiples where the object looks equally frozen โ€” because hiding that ambiguity would be a comfortable lie. Start slow; the first rate where it freezes is the true speed. FLASHING LIGHT SAFETY, TAKEN SERIOUSLY Flashing light can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, including people who have never had one and do not know they are susceptible. LightUP is built around that rather than burying it in a disclaimer: - It starts at 2 Hz, never at a fast rate. - The 15โ€“25 Hz band, where reactions are most commonly provoked, is marked in orange on the dial, and the readout turns orange inside it. - A plain warning appears before the first flash of every session, not once ever โ€” the person holding the phone may not be the one who read it. - While it runs, the entire screen is the stop button. Hunting for a small control in a flashing room is exactly when you need it to stop instantly. Please do not point a strobe at anyone who has not agreed to it, at drivers, at cyclists, or into a crowd. WHAT YOU GET FREE - The full strobe, screen and torch, 0.5 to 30 Hz - Exact rate control, fine steps and tap tempo - The party and beacon presets - The complete safety guidance and the marked risk band WHAT PRO ADDS - Tachometer mode with RPM readout, blade count and harmonics - Colour strobe: amber, red, blue, green and magenta - Flash width control for sharper or softer pulses - The police, warning and candle presets HONEST LIMITS The camera LED cannot physically switch faster than about 10 times a second. Above that the screen carries the strobe alone, and LightUP says so instead of pretending the torch keeps up. Long sessions make the phone warm โ€” that is the LED, and it is normal. The tachometer is a genuine stroboscopic measurement, but it is only as good as your eye and a steady hand. It is a field reading, not a calibrated laboratory instrument. PRIVACY No account, no analytics, no network access whatsoever. Camera permission is used for one thing only: switching the torch LED on and off. The app never opens the camera, never previews, and never records. SUBSCRIPTION LightUP Pro is available as a weekly subscription at $3.99 with a 3-day free trial, or a yearly subscription at $17.99. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription. About

Flashlight

Features

More than a flashlight. One app for everyday light, cycling and running visibility, a music-reactive party strobe, and your own custom flash pattern. FLASHLIGHT Instant torch access with a single tap. Adjustable brightness for everyday use. CYCLING A dedicated visibility mode for riding after dark. Choose from City, Dark Road, High Vis, or a fully custom preset. Use your screen as a Rear Light in Solid, Pulse, or Double styles, in Red, Amber, or White. Optional Brake Light uses motion detection to briefly flash red when you slow down suddenly. Note: this mode is a visibility aid, not a substitute for legally required bike lights, and it does not guarantee safety. WALKING A separate visibility mode for walking in low light, with Soft, Beacon, Attention, and Custom presets, plus adjustable screen color and brightness. RUNNING Two light modes for runs: a steady Normal Pulse, or Motion Reactive, which adjusts to your movement and pace. This is a visibility light, not a fitness tracker โ€” there's no GPS, distance tracking, step counting, or heart-rate monitoring. EMERGENCY A bright, attention-grabbing visual SOS signal for extra visibility when it matters. Important: this is a visual signal only. It does not contact police, ambulance, rescue services, or any emergency contacts. PARTY A sound-reactive light mode. Your iPhone's microphone is analyzed in real time, on-device, so the light pulses with the bass and energy of the music around you. Choose Low, Medium, or High sensitivity, or set your own rhythm with Tap Tempo. CUSTOM PATTERN Build your own flash pattern by setting the exact on and off duration. Your pattern is saved locally on your device. PRIVACY Flashlight collects no user data. There's no advertising SDK, no tracking SDK, and no account required. Microphone analysis for the Party mode and motion detection for Cycling and Running happen entirely on your device โ€” audio is never recorded, stored, or uploaded anywhere. A NOTE ON SAFETY Rapid flashing lights can affect people who are sensitive to light. Please use the strobe and flashing modes thoughtfully. As noted above, Emergency mode sends a visual signal only and does not contact emergency services.
