DeductHound

A shoebox of paper receipts is a pile of write-offs you will never claim. DeductHound turns that pile into a categorized, exportable expense log, one photo at a time. Point the camera at a paper receipt. DeductHound finds the edges, captures the moment your hand is steady, and reads the receipt on your iPhone. Merchant, date, total, sales tax and the tip on a restaurant check come back filled in, each one editable before you save. EVERY FIELD IS YOURS TO CORRECT Extraction is the feature, not a safety net. Every scan ends on a confirmation screen with the photo beside the fields, so nothing is ever filed behind your back. A field the scan could not read with confidence is left blank and focused, ready for you to type. Faded thermal ink and creased receipts are the normal case here, not the edge case. THE SCHEDULE C LINE NUMBER, NOT JUST A CATEGORY Every receipt lands in a Schedule C category with the real IRS line number printed next to it: Meals on Line 24b, Travel on 24a, Supplies on 22, Office on 18 and the rest. That line number follows the expense everywhere, including the CSV and the PDF, so at tax time you copy figures across instead of guessing which box they belong in. Correct a merchant once and DeductHound remembers your choice. CLEAR THE BACKLOG IN ONE SITTING Already have months of receipt photos in your camera roll? Import from Photos runs them as a batch and hands you a queue of confirmations, one tap each when the scan is clean. REPORTS YOUR ACCOUNTANT CAN OPEN The Reports tab shows quarterly and yearly totals, a breakdown by category, monthly bars and the countdown to your next estimated-tax deadline. Export a CSV for the spreadsheet or a PDF with receipt thumbnails grouped by category. Both carry the Schedule C line number. NO ACCOUNT. NO SIGN UP. There is no login, no password and no server to sign up for. Receipts, amounts and images stay on this iPhone, and the reading is done by Apple's on-device Vision engine, so no receipt image and no extracted text is ever uploaded. NO GPS. NO BATTERY DRAIN. DeductHound does not track mileage and never runs your GPS in the background. It does one job: paper to deductible expense. REMINDERS THAT MATCH THE TAX YEAR A weekly scan-day nudge, plus alerts before each US estimated-tax deadline in January, April, June and September. WIDGETS Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show your month total and jump straight into the scanner. SUBSCRIPTION DeductHound is a subscription. Two plans, no trial: 79.99 USD per year or 12.99 USD per week. Both unlock everything. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in Settings, and you can cancel any time. DeductHound is not tax advice. Consult a tax professional.
